I have just finished reading the book"The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet". I have to admit it seems to fit me to a tee. Anyone have any experience with this eating plan? It seems to make sense, and seems to be a sensible plan, but I would love to hear from people who have tried it. If you have tried it; can you give some suggestions on tasty and easy breakfast and lunch foods. (I'd especially like some great soup recipes that fit the diet!) I am not sure I can live without the carbs at these meals, but feel it might be beneficial to try. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I'm not as much a carb addict as my Mom, but it fit me pretty well. As far as the breakfast's go, I can't help you much. I don't really do breakfast all that often unless it's the weekend (I don't know why, but especially on Sundays I'll get a craving for pancakes or an omlette). I did all right on the diet. I drink a lot of water anyway, and I noticed that it seemed to help avoid the munchies if I drank between meals. Another thing that helps to avoid eating is brushing your teeth after lunch. At work there is ALWAYS food around and even though I'd brush I used to snack again after lunch. It just gave me an added incentive not to eat whatever was lying around. There was a doctor at work that hadn't seen me in a while (I had lost the last 30 of my 47 that I lost) and he asked me how I did it. I told him about this diet (although I didn't lose ALL of the weight that way. I also went to the gym 4 times a week and switched diets when I got tired of one. I also did the Subway thing for a couple of weeks at a time to take a break from the carb addict thing and then there were a couple of weeks where I just ate low fat and a lot of fruit and veggies.) He lost 20 pounds, now he's a walking infomercial for the book. Another lady at work also started it and she lost 17 pounds. Neither one of them worked out, but it does help if you do, but you don't have to. All of us have fallen off the wagon, but who doesn't this time of year (or at least the time that just passed). Good luck and keep me posted on how things go.

I am currently on this diet again. It worked very well for me and I feel good while on it. I did Atkins and find this one much more flexible. I had wine and fudge after dinner last night without cheating.
For breakfast I usually do eggs and bacon or sausage. I did not like the muffins in the book, and the bread takes some getting used to. I have not tried any other recipes.
For dinner I usually do a low carb meat, low carb veggie, and one carb dish. I just take the meat and veggie for lunch the next day, and sometimes use the carbs to fill out a meal later in the week because there's almost always enough of that for 2 meals.
You can add some onion & peppers or cheese and salsa to eggs for breakfast if you want some variety.
I lost 12 pounds in 3 months on this diet, and am now trying to lose the 6lbs I put on over the holidays.

I did this, fit the profile to a "t" but I wasn't able to make this my lifestyle. Once off, I slowly gained the weight back. I later did Weight Watchers, which I enjoyed and had better success at b/c I learned about portion control, food choices etc. which has become a part of my life. You don't even want to know what I ingested in that hour!
