To what point do you think this recipe (for those who have tried it) could be made ahead - do you think you could do the mushroom-wine sauce and do the filets later - would it make much difference 'sitting'? I found it very last minute - being my first try......

I haven't made the recipe but it sounds very similar to something I've made before (also fabulous.) For something which doesn't look to take too terribly long, I'd just as soon do it all at once, of course the way I do things may not be right for the rest of the world. After reading through the recipe, I see no reason why you couldn't stop after the first step and pick up at the beginning of step 2 later. You're not really using anything that's going to separate or curdle-- the worst I see happening is that your mushrooms cook a smidge longer. Try it out and see.

thanks Gail - yeah that's sort of what I was thinking - it's not a difficult recipe but - I had people talking at me and I was trying to pay attention to the recipe and the rest of the meal - THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!!!! hahahahaha going to try to the point of the mushrooms next time and then heat up and do the filets - will let you know and it really is a good recipe for sure! lanie http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
