I made these last night along with the longevity noodles (reviewed separately and these were pretty good despite the work!!

It was my first time dealing with wonton wrappers. Either my wrapper was really small or I didn't chop up the veggies small enough but there was no way I could fit 2 tsp of mix onto a wrapper and still seal it! I halved the recipe, made 30 and still had filling left!

The Dipping sauce was the best part of the recipe...it is *exactly* like the one they serve at my favorite chinese restaurant. YUM! The dumpling itself was good but it just doesn't have that flavor that steamed dumplings in restaurants have. They tend to be doughier and probably fattier! Even the veggie dumplings in restaurants are better though. In all fairness this came pretty close although next time I think I will make them veggie style. There is not a lot of pork to really taste it. The flavor of the leek and spices come through. I will probably try mincing the veggies or using spinach to get a "wetter" filling.

OH! I also cooked the pork first. The recipe just said to combine all the filling ingredients together and that just heeby jeebied me out.

They are also 6 pts per serving (5 dumplings) which isn't all that much different from the pts at a chinese take out place.

As you can see I'm torn! It was good but I'm not sure worth the effort.

Thanks JeAnne! I just received my issue on Saturday and just breezed through it last night. I will check out the recipe and make note of your reviews. :)
