ML, your recipe for Mexican won tons sounds great! When preparing, do you take one won ton wrapper (or pastry or whatever you call them) and place another won ton on top so you have a double thickeness? Also, are Trappey's jalapenos a brand name of a canned product? Are the won tons really hot with 3/4 cup of jalapenos? Sorry if these are dumb questions . . . Thanks!

Hi BarbaraL, these are not dumb questions!!

I like to have the won ton in "double thickness" (or two layers) when I am making the small or mini size. When I make the full size I just use one layer, you get more thickness when you roll up the won ton.

Trappey's is a brand name- I am from Texas and am not sure how wide spread Trappey's is. Any brand of jalapenos would be fine- in Texas though, Trappey's is the only way to go (we even send them by mail to relatives living out of state!)

I do not find them to be real hot since the 3/4 cup of jalapenos is mixed throughout- of course you can always cut back on the jalapenos, although I think they add a lot of flavor. You could also serve some sliced jalapenos on the side for those that like things a little hotter.
