Hello Fellow CLers~

Has anyone tried this soup yet? I wanted to get some feedback before I make it. I checked through the Oct. threads but there's no mention of it yet.

Thanks!
Susan

I have not made this version. I use a recipe from Jeanne Jones-which I would love to share but its packed up waiting for the new house. But her's was much simpler than this, it didn't use breadcrumbs or salsa in the meatballs or tortillas & salsa in the soup. It does use spinach and I use orzo(I guess in place of the tortillas).

Which Jeanne Jones' cookbook? Maybe I can find it at the library. Thx!

I believe it's called 'Cook It Light' - I have two but I think it's out of this one.

Funny you should mention her name! I believe she writes a newspaper column ("Cook it light") that shows up in the Chicago Tribunes food section every couple of weeks or so.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan! I've found that her lightened versions of recipes that readers have sent in have close to the same percentage of fat as the original! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/confused.gif Yes, it has less calories & less fat grams, but the percentages aren't that much improved.
Are her books any better?

Talked to my sister this weekend and I think she liked it. She also said that it was fun to make it with her hubby (it was in the Two Many Cooks... article, I think)

Can't really say much about her books except that I've made a couple of recipes. She was a recommended author on some diet program I was on once. I can't give the nutrional factors on her albondigas soup since it is packed in a box but I do remember it was very tasty!
