I want to have a Super Bowl Pary and would like to have chili and a choice of soups as well as different types of cornbread. I have a good chili receipe, but I'm looking for soups and they don't have to be light. On the cover of Bon Appetit for February there is a tortellini, kielbasa and kale soup. Has anyone tried this or do you have a "soup to share"?

Caregiver50: Funny you should ask! I just made the soup on the cover of Bon Appetit Friday. I substituted spinach for the kale. I did make a mistake. I was chatting on the phone while preparing the soup. ( A definite no no)! I sorted through the bag of fresh spinach and piled it in a bowl. When it came time to add the spinach (or kale) I forgot to chop it! I dumped the whole bowl of unchopped spinach in. Well, as you know, it started to wilt almost immediately. I used my Henkel scissors to cut the spinach as it cooked. Other than that substitution and mistake, I followed the recipe. It is very good. Actually taste better the second day. The taste of the kielbasa is defintely comes through. I liked it and so did my DH. I think it's a good superbowl soup. Satisfying and good flavor. Serve it with some crusty bread. That was my favorite part. The broth is delicious because of the fennel, onion and kielbasa!!!! Good Luck!!
