Hey, I get to start one!
Well, my week was fabulous. I met all of my goals and I was out of town for 3 days for work so I am even happir with myself for sticking to it. I got in 2 weight sessions and 3 cardio. YAY! I am on the WW thread as well, so as of Wednesday, I started tracking my points again- on paper! I was able to drink my 96oz of water a day too! I have felt so good all week, and I just want the feelings to continue.
I went to my annual exam on Friday and of course, had to be weighed. I am only 2 pounds over my WW goal! How happy was I!!! I was even PMSy. :p
Goal for this week:
Track my points
3 Cardio Sessions
2 Weight Sessions
96 oz of water a day
Do it with a smile :D

Congratulations on a great week, Molli! You are awesome!
I, on the other hand, do not feel so awesome this week. I ate well, drank water (I strive for the 96oz days), but I didn't exercise very much. I am already turning that around for this week. DH and I went on a 5 mile bike ride yesterday. I have a solo ride planned into my schedule today. I need to turn this around because I bought some clothing that is just a little too small. I want to fit into it all soon.
That's all for now. I will write more later.

Hi all.
Last week was much better. I got in most of my workouts but need to squeeze in one more walk today to get them all.
I finally found that the time to go to the gym with all the new faces around is 3:00 - I had been enjoying getting my workouts over in the morning, but it's just not worth fighting the January crowds. I do find that early in the week it's bad, but mornings thin out as the week goes on.
This week I want to continue the workout schedule and to focus more on healthy eating. Eating was much better last week, but I still made a few dumb choices that I really didn't enjoy - which means all those calories and fat grams were totally wasted! :) I need my pants to fit better!
The most important thing I want to focus on this weekend is coming up with some journaling pages - printed sheets where I can track my progress. I've done them in the past, but I need to change them around to reflect my new goals.
Good luck everyone!

I actually had a decent week, last week. I went back to school (along with work/husband, etc), and was worried what that would do to my schedule. But I got in 3 walks of over an hour each! Yay! It was that time of the month, so I was rampantly looking for any reason to flop out! So, I'm proud of myself for getting some exercise in. Eating is another story altogether--but this is a new week!:p
Goals for this week:
Get a more comfy seat for my bike.
Drink H2O!
Yoga! (need to get back on track)

I posted on HLSG a few weeks ago and said that I wanted to join you guys. Right after I did that, JeAnne started a WW support thread which I have been posting on instead of here. I always read these posts, but feel like the best place for me to post at the time being is the WW thread. Anyway, I just felt compelled to say this since I did butt in and declare that I would be posting here and then never posted again!
Lorena - you should be so proud of yourself!!! I check your web page every now and then to see if you have added more pictures. You are looking fantastic!

Hi all,
I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I feel like I need to find something to kickstart me, and I am hoping this is the right place. I have been doing WW since July and have lost 25 pounds with them, with 20 more to go, but I have been on a plateau through the holidays. Now I have no problem with the fact that I maintained over Christmas, but I am having trouble getting back into the downward groove again. So I thought I would share my goals for this week as an extra incentive.
My goals for this week are to do some kind of excercise each day until Sunday. The plan is aerobics on Monday, frisbee on Tuesday, aerobics on Wednesday, lifting on Thursday, aerobics on Friday, intervals on Saturday. My other goal is to journal and stay within my points between now and Saturday for my weigh in. I hope to be down for my weigh in. It's been a while since that scale has been nice to me!
There now that I can see my goals in black and white, I feel more inspired to accomplish them. Please wish me luck!

Thanks Laura and Molli for the extra words of encouragement.
Molli, the good news on this really sad day is that I did put one of those new dresses on the "I can wear this out in public" pile. I might have hubby-boy take a pic tonight. I will try to post it on my website this week. I am seeing more and more of the plus size me go away. I am so excited.
Kyle....I just had DH put a big ole gel seat on my new bike (tricylcle) this weekend. It is really comfy. I found it at Walmart for about $20.
Lisa.....Welcome! We are happy to have you here! Keep us posted on how you are doing with your goals later during the week.
So far I am back on the exercise track. Today I went out for nice long ride. I am hoping to report some progress this week. I am not going to obsess about what the scale says this time if there is no change. I will let you know if there is a change though.
Have a great week everyone.

I had a good week last week, exercising M-F and then again yesterday morning. I'm going to exercise M-F again this week. I lift twice and do an aerobics class three times and run or walk once or twice. I also love my jump rope for a very quick work out. I still need to work on my water consumption. It is getting better, but still nowhere near you guys!
Lisa, welcome to the thread. Good luck. Frisbee sounds like a fun source of exercise!
Lorena, I check your site all the time! We love pix!

It's great to see new faces here. If there are other lurkers out there, come on in and sit with us by the fire. We'll keep each other inspired.
I survived last week and all those classes though I blew off the Saturday mega class. I'm trying to lose my voice for some reason, some cold/sore throat thing that's driving me nuts. I do not have time for a cold. I do not have time for a cold. If I repeat it enough it should work. Ok that and echinacea :D .
Now I'm gonna veg out as much as I can and lurk on the board. I love hearing how everyone is doing. You're all so inspiring.

Hi,
Wanted to share my weigh in over the weekend. I haven't lost any pounds but I did lose a few inches which I was so happy about. I have been feeling "tighter" since I've been working out. Totally into taking up less space!!
My goals for this week.
Add more veggies to my diet.
Keep up with the water. (take my water bottle w/ me everywhere)
Keep up with going to the gym at least 5 times per week.
Have a good week everyone!

I've been busy. I joined WW last week (online), and have been totally changing how I eat - no more "wishing" that I would lose a few pounds, I am going to "do" it!
An added bonus to being on WW is the motivation that it gives me to exercise, b/c I get more points that I can either use on the weekend or bank - I worked out 5 times last week, which is the most ever since I got back into exercise over the summer! Yay!
Weigh in tomorrow, hope it goes ok. I do feel better, though -
goals:
- Stick with this!
- drink my water on the weekend too, not just during the week
- try to get my veggies up to where they need to be each day
- remember to take my vitamin
- EXERCISE!! 5 times at least!
Have a great week, everyone...

Looks like everyone's doing a pretty darn good job of sticking to their goals. Way to go! As for me, I had an overall good week last week ( I start my weeks on Monday, so I think I'm a day off you guys). I worked out 3 days, an hour each time. It was easier than I thought i would be, considering I've been sick and haven't really worked out since Sept. Less binging and better portion control, too. The best thing, though: my boss has a "workday" once a month where we all get together and do grunt work. Well, she brings tons of food-cheeseballs, cheesecakes, nuts, sweets, ice cream, quiches. Well, today, I ate nothing that she brought. I didn't give in to peer pressure, I didn't give into the guilt factor (well, she went to all this trouble...), I just stuck to my packed lunch and my water, and I feel great.
Goals for this week:
Work out AT LEAST 3xs
Take my lunch at least 4 days this week
Cut back on post-work binging
Keep up the H2O
Keep a smile on my face
Keep it up, y'all

I'm still struggling to get back fully on track, but I've been very good about recording everything I eat this past week. If that's not enough to scare you into healthy eating, I don't know what is!
I did weigh-in on Monday morning and I'm down about 2lb. according to my inaccurate scale. I only get weighed in my program once/month now, so I plan to self-weigh on Monday mornings to keep on track (and at least see which way we're moving).
Goals:
1)Continue journalling this week
2)Get in 5 workouts this week- even if they're shorter than ideal, strive to get back into the almost-daily mindset
3)Plan more- try to plan meals ahead of time
4)Afternoon snack to avoid the post-work binge/hungries
Have a great week everyone.

Hi All!!
I am struggling!! I am doing fine with my eating, both with portion control and food selection. My problem is still the exercise!! I work 12 hour shifts at night. Does anyone else work nights?? How do you do it?? I know that I only work 3 shifts a week, but because I am also in school I never seem to get enough rest to feel like exercising!! The really crazy thing is that I actually sleep more than I did when I worked a regular day shift, the problem is that I sleep in 4 hour chunks and rarely get 8 hours in a row unless I have 2 days off in a row. I know this sounds crazy, but it's true!!
Here is an example... If I work on Monday night I will take a 4 hour nap before I go in at 7pm. I get off at 7:30 in the morning and head to my 8am class. I'm in class until 2:30pm. I go home and crash!! I try not to sleep too long, maybe 4 hours, so I can go to bed at night. Inevitably because I've napped I can't fall asleep until 2 or 3am, but I need to get up on Wednesday by 9am or so for two reasons... 1 - to get my homework done and 2 - so I'll be able to take a nap before I go to work that night. Then I repeat the whole process. Friday before work I can sleep all day, but I never do. I live in an apartment and it is so noisy during the day. They should have complexes for people who work nights!!
So by the time Saturday and Sunday come around I have very little energy! I am trying to switch to a day shift, but I'm fairly new in Pediatrics so I have to wait my turn. That will make a huge difference - at least I can have a regular bedtime!!
Until then, does anyone have any suggestions???
I'm glad the rest of you are doing so well!! My weight loss is moving along... even with Christmas and my birthday I managed to lose 2 pounds over the holidays. Some weeks I don't lose any, and while it really is an accomplishment to not have gained any, I know I'm not losing because I'm not exercising!!
I'm sorry today's post was so angst ridden, I just feel frustrated!!
Hope you all have a great week!!
Judy

Judy, hang in there! I'm not a nurse but I used to work for a hospice where we had 2 inpatient facilities and had RN's who had to work overnights. I think that is the hardest time of day to work!
Is there a way to fit some exercise into your day while you are at class? Maybe just 10 minutes here and there? Do you get any kind of a break at work (yeah, right!) that you could walk for 20 minutes? Even that would be beneficial. I don't think that it is beneficial to your body to deprive it of sleep to get in your exercise.
Is cutting back your class or work schedule an option so that you could have fewer hours that you had to "be somewhere"? That might be an idea. Cutting back even 2 hours a week might give you what you need.
This past week for me was OK. We went to the gym Tuesday and Wednesday, but not Thursday. Wanted to do yoga over the weekend but just could not seem to find an hour to do it. SIL has a baby due in 2 1/2 weeks and I am trying to get my gift done and in the mail to her, so I worked on that over the weekend and last night. I'm almost done, will work on it again Thursday night, then get it into the mail on Friday!
Eating overall was fine, and I did great on water while at work, and did OK while I was home.
Goals for this week:
1. Gym 3 times Tues, Wed, and Thurs for 45-60 min each session
2. 3 bottles of water per day
3. Plenty of sleep at night (today is hard-I slept crappy last night)
4. Yoga once before Sunday
Have a good week!

Okay, okay - I'm here!!!
The battle continues - I keep trying to LIKE exercise but it's not easy since I'm a rather-sit- on-the-couch-with-a-book type of girl. The part I don't understand is that I go to the gym or out for a run/walk and feel so great afterward - why is it so difficult to go the next time?

Judy...
Don't ever apologize for venting frustrations. That is what we are all here for.
BTW- To answer your private message. I was home sick and I forgot to log off. I am around today as well (1/16). I don't feel super horrible, but I am trying to nip this in the bud so that we can have a fun weekend. I am looking forward to your visit!
Alisa-Welcome. I was the same sit-on-the-couch type of person. I am also a loves-to-listen-to-music kind of person. So, I started taking walks listening to my favorite upbeat music. I burned cds with some of my favorite stuff on it. Now 8 months later I am 56 lbs lighter and I need my daily exercise. Its all just retraining you mind to work for you. I NEED my walks now. It is part of my stress relief. I definitely notice a difference in my attitude when I haven't been exercising. You will get there. You just have to work on building in the habit of getting out there. Don't stress yourself out about it. Just start with taking walks and listening to music. The more you do it, the more you need it.
Anyway, that is just my 2 cents. Have a great day everyone!

Well, last week was actually very good exercise wise!
I got in 3 good workouts (Wednesday night, Friday night and Saturday morning) and went to Disneyland all day on Sunday and pushed a stroller half the time and held my nephew quite a bit! So I consider that 4 workouts. My food was pretty good too.
I actually feel better having worked out consistently for the past couple of weeks and I am also feeling firmer!
Hopefully this week will go just as well.
