I did a search on the BB for crumb cakes. I found a recipe for a CL Cinnamon Crumb Cake out of the CL cookbook. Has anyone tried this? I have this sudden urge to make a good, not too sweet, but cinnamon-y crumb cake with lots of good crumbly topping. If anyone has made the CL cake, how was it? Or, I'd love to hear about your tried and true crumb cake recipes!
Thanks!
Susan

Last year there was an issue that featured crumb cakes and I made lots of them. If the cinnamon crumb cake recipe you're talking about is half as good as those were (or one of the ones from that issue) you'll be really pleased with the result. Not too sweet, nicely cinnamony.

Yes - there is an issue from 97 (I don't remember what month) that also has a selection of coffee cakes - I made most of them and they are all repeaters. Rasberry Coffee Cake, Coffee Coffee Cake (one of my favorites), Cinnamon COffee Cake, lots more as well!!

I love those crumb cakes!! I recently made the cinnamon one as well as the mocha one and the coffee one from the same issue!
They have all been easy, moist and great!!
Also, they call for ingredients that I had readilly available.
Enjoy!

Sounds like I ought to give them a try, then. I am sure I have the October 97 issue lurking about my house. The one that was posted looked great because I already have the ingredients at home. As long as they're moist, too. I hate dry coffee cake! Thanks for everyone's input!

Under search type crumb cake There you will find the lemon rosemary, banana coconut (that is awsome!) cinnamon, mocha (you can use decaf I guess) applesauce crumb cake etc.
They are all great and the kitchen smells great! I love baking in the Fall!

I have a Coffee Cake recipe that is quick, easy and tasty. I must confess that it is off the back of the reduced fat Bisquick box, but it is really good.
Coffee Cake
1 3/4 cups Bisquick Reduced Fat baking mix
3/4 cup skim milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon margarine, melted
1 egg
Steusal Topping (below)
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9" round pan. Stir all ingredients excpet Streusal Topping in medium bowl until blended. Spread in pan, sprinkle with Streusal Topping. Bake 18-23 minutes unitl golden brown.
Streusal Topping
Mix 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon until crumbly.
Makes 10 servings.
The reduced fat bisquick recipe equals 3 grams of fat per serving, the original bisquick equals 7 grams of fat per serving.
