Sorry, I just noticed your question in the dishwasher thread.
I have a Kenmore portable dishwasher that I bought at Sears. Counting the warranty I bought with it, it cost about $600some dollars (can't remember exactly how much). It's a little smaller than a regular dishwasher, but it runs well. I've just gotten clever about how I load it. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif It's got a removable utensil basket, a hose that you hook up to your sink, and a plug (which I have to run through one of those adapters because my house is two-prong plugs only for the moment).
The extra counterspace is wonderful--it fits into the corner space between my refrigerator and my kitchen hutch and rolls out to the sink when I need it.
There was a limited selection of portables when I was shopping (1 year ago--and paid off, woo-hoo!). Some stores had only 1 or 2 models, or none at all. Sears, I think, had 2 or 3 models of portable dishwashers.
Mostly I bought one because I didn't want to have to pay contractors to tear up my house and install the necessary electrical and plumbing groundwork--but the counterspace was a nice bonus.
