Help! I am trying to locate a Crock pot recipe from last year or so, with chicken breast on the bone, garlic cloves, and carrots with a few simple other herbs, broth, etc. Couldn't get any luck with the recipe search tool. Did I strike any bells? Also, a referral to a great source/book for strickly healthy slow cooker recipes would be great, too. Thanks!

Did the recipe have white wine in it?

Yes, I believe white cooking wine, basil and salt, maybe sugar.

Found it! I made this last fall and my family enjoyed it-great aroma while cooking!

Chicken and Carrots with Wine Sauce (p. 176 Sept. 1999)

Does anyone have this already in MasterCook before I type it all in? Thx!

Hi, For some reason, my browser didn't update this thread since I see you got your recipe. What I'd actually included were other possible leads for crockpot recipes within the bulletin board. Clicking on the small "search" next to FAQs, then typing in crockpot yields quite a few leads, one of which had some search tips for using CL's recipe search engine.

To start you out, here are a few threads to check out with recipes, web site suggestions and other ideas. There are a lot more, it appears, that I didn't personally check.

Chicken and Carrots with Wine Sauce (p. 176 Sept. 1999)

2 cups diagonally sliced carrot (about 8 oz)
8 chicken thighs (about 2 lbs) skinned
12 garlic cloves, peeled
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper

1. Combine carrot, chicken, and garlic in an electric slow cooker, and add wine. Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and add wine. Cover with lid; cook on low-heat setting for 8 hrs.

2. Remove carrot, chicken, and garlic with slotted spoon, reserving cooking liquid. Place 1/3 cup carrots, 3 garlic cloves, and 2 chicken thighs in each of 4 shallow bowls. Spoon 2 tbsp. reserved cooking liquid over each serving. Yield: 4 servings.
