Does anyone know of a way, if at all possible, to freeze fresh jalapeno peppers? My garden overfloweth.........

I would recommend pickling and canning them if you've got the supplies. Real easy and delicious!

Even easier yet, you can do what I've done with my bumper crop of jalapenos. I like this technique because you don't lose the seeds, which give the jalapenos so much of their heat.
Keep the peppers whole, wash them and dry them off thoroughly. Place them one-layer deep on a cookie sheet and place them in the freezer to flash freeze them. When they are frozen solid, you can place them in plastic bags and store them in the freezer. They keep for about 1 year this way.
If you'd prefer chopping the peppers first, try using an ice-cube tray. Fill each "cube" with peppers, freeze them, and then store the pepper cubes in plastic bags. When you need some heat, just pull out a cube and throw it in your recipe http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Thanks Lorilei - sounds like this is the way I'll go. Although I am mildly intrigued about pickled jalapeno peppers.........
I think all you need to do is split them, seed and devein them to freeze. This is what I do with my bell peppers and it works great.

Thanks Abby. I presume freezer bags work best, as opposed to freezer containers?

I've only ever used freezer bags and they were fine.
