Chicago Supper Club, anyone?

Anyone living in Chicago's downtown and northern neighborhoods interested in joining a supper club? There's a small group of us looking to get something started with people who live in similar areas of the city. As a long-time subscriber to the magazine, I would love to get together with like-minded folks to enjoy some good food and company!

I don't think I can host, though. Apartment is pretty small. :(

Count me in, too! Like Kristen, I'm in Hyde Park for the time being, but I'll be moving in the near future, and, as an aside, I'd love to hear about (or even see) what sorts of kitchen space you all found in your respective neighborhoods.

Should we arrange a meeting to discuss details or rules or plans? What are people's schedules like for the next couple of weeks? (I've never done this before, and I'm not sure what happens next -- it's kind of like a group blind date, eh?) I'm happy to bring snacks...I've been baking compulsively for a month, and I'd welcome new mouths to feed.

Hi, I am one of the moderators of an existing supper club in the Chicago city area. We live from the Loop to Ravenswood and everywhere in between. We have been going since September, and welcome new members, as not everyone can make it to every meeting. I know I'm posting several months after you all were going to get together (I think it was back in March), but I'm just now moving into Chicago this month and looking for a supper club to join or start. I belonged to a great club in New Orleans, and definitely would like to continue meeting other great cooks. Did you all get a club going and are you looking to add any new members? I'll be living in the Humboldt Park/Wicker Park area. Or is there anyone who hasn't been able to hook up with a group that would be interested in starting another club?

If you'd like to help start a club, send me an email at kf_design@yahoo.com. Four of us from the board met a month ago and decided to just jump in feet first and start another cooking club! We're using a yahoogroups distribution list that I can add your email address to.

I'll be hosting the first meeting Sunday, Aug. 4 in the South Loop & we chose an Italian theme. There will be lots of new people & discussion of how to go about future gatherings.... and, of course, lots of food and wine!

Most of us are El travelers & we live and work all around the greater Chicago area.

Bumping this thread up too, for those still looking for Chicago supper clubs. This thread was from LAST summer, but perhaps these people are still looking to either start a group or add to an already existing group. I would suggest emailing them.
