Hi I am new to all this and was wondering if anyone out there had a superb recipe for Kahlua/coffee liquor? My brother-on-law makes some that is outstanding but refuses to give anyone his recipe
Also am looking for a good creme brulee recipe. I received a brulee torch for xmas and am excited to use it but can't find a decent recipe anywhere!
Thank you-

I also got a kitchen torch for Christmas! Now, I could only figure out what to use it for in addition to Creme Brulee (which is about a once-a-year dish in our house!)
Anyway, here's a great recipe from Kincaid's:
whipping cream 1 pint
egg yolks 4
granulated sugar 1/2 cup
vanilla extract 1 Tbsp.
Preheat oven to 350'F
Heat cream over low heat until bubbles form around edge of pan. Beat egg yolks and sugar together until thick, about 3 minutes. Gradually beat cream into egg yolks. Stir in vanilla..
Pour mixture into 6 six-ounce custard cups. Place custard cups in baking water that has about '/z inch water in the bottom. Bake until set. about 45 minutes. Remove custard cups from water. Refrigerate until chilled (about 4 hours).
SUGAR TOPPING:
granulated sugar 4 Tbsp.
brown sugar 1 tsp.
Sprinkle each custard with about 2 tspr. sugar blend. Place on top rack under broiler. Cook until topping is medium brown.
Chill before serving.
yield: Six

You may want to check out the cremebrulee.com website. It has a tasty, definitely not light, recipe I used for out CL supper club last week.. we really should rename our cooking club fattening and tasty This recipe has 8 eggs and 2 Cups of heavy cream, but BOY is it tasty! Best I've ever had, but how could you go wrong with all those eggs and cream?!
Anyway, I too was the recipient of a kitchen torch for Christmas and it was so fun to use at the supper club!

Here is a recipe for Kahlua Coffee Liquer that I got on a "Copycat recipe website", and honestly can't remember which one:o . It is really good though! I hope this is what you are looking for. :) Zinnia
Kahlua Coffee Liquer
2 cups hot water
2 cups sugar
1 Tablespoon instant coffee
1 Tablespoon vanilla
2 & 1/2 cups vodka
In a pan on low to med. heat combine sugar, coffee, vanilla, & water. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Set aside until completely cool then add Vodka.Be sure it's completely cool or some of the alcohol WILL evaporate. Enjoy! It gets better with age!
P.S. Now you have a bottle to take over to your sisters house;).
