Thought I would pass this along in case some of you don't know about it. The website half.com allows folks to buy and sell previously owned books, cds, tapes, usually for less than half cost (depending on the condition they're in). I wanted the 5 ingredient, 15 minutes cooking light cookbook and just found it for half price and snapped it up--supposedly in "like new" condition.
While browsing I noticed they have tons of the annual CL cookbooks...some for as little as $5 If you're interested, please check it out. Definitely a neat site for finding cookbooks of all types!

It's me again. For all of you who live outside the 50 states, the site won't ship to you. Maybe I'll try again using my inlaws address but then that won't match my credit card address, so who knows. If anyone else has better luck let me know.

If you order from the site in the next two days, they'll even ship free--a great bargain for old CL annuals. At checkout, just type the code "SHIPFREE" into the space provided on the bottom right corner of the page (below the gray "Order Summary" box) to qualify for this Free Shipping Special.

Well I just ordered the 1998 Annual. This will be a new experience for me. I didn't get a chance to type in SHIPFREE though. There was no place for this. It added 2.95 shipping. Oh well.

I just thought I would say that I have ordered from this site before and just a week ago or so I ordered the CL 94. I love this site and they seem to be very trustworthy! Very cool place for tightwads like myself :-)

mightyh,
I just got off the website and selected 5 books, some of which would be gifts. I registered and all, but couldn't type ship free anywhere like you said. By ship free I save approx 13 dollars, and insead of $ 40 it would cost more like $ 27 w/ the free shipping option. I did "check out" and there was no gray box, and I was afraid to click "place order" for fear of approving the shipping cost. All of the books were ranged from 2.50-8.00. So, I don't want to pay such a high % in shipping if I don't have to (boy do I sound cheap! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif ) Can you help???!!

I just emailed their help desk cause I just tried to use the coupon code and the same thing happened to me. Will let you know what they tell me... Not sure when they will reply, though.

I also emailed them about the shipping charge. An automated reply said it would be no more than 32 hours to hear back.

Okay, I heard back from Half.com. They are giving me a refund for the shipping charge that was added to my order. They also gave me instructions to avoid this in the future. Here is what they sent to me:
We have researched your order and have determined that you did not
receive free shipping on your purchase by our online coupon. We apologize if there was any confusion in the ordering process. We will manually credit $2.95 back to your credit card. To apply future coupons, please follow these simple instructions: Prior to clicking the red 'Check out' button in your shopping cart enter your coupon code in the box provided and click the red 'Submit Code' button. When your coupon is applied, you will see the discount reflected in parentheses on the gray Order Summary box in the upper right corner of the shopping cart screen! We hope this information is helpful.

I just checked out this site and found two cookbooks I wanted for Christmas for 1/2 price. Thats like two presents for the price of one. I bought them and will give them to Hubby to give back to me. Do you ever buy your own presents? It was such a deal and he would never have gone to the trouble to check out this website. Thanks for posting this info.

Does anyone have the coupon code for the free shippping? I found a bunch of books I'd like and the shipping is more than the books! Thanks.
