I have a trip planned in April to come to Boston. I am running the Boston Marathon. My tickets are purchased but I am having trouble finding a place to stay. Location is important because I want to stay in a place close to the finish line. (Places are booking fast so I know I need to hurry.) DH and I have been searching the internet but since we are not familiar with the area we are not clear where anything is located. We are looking at both B&B or hotels. Right now we are thinking of staying in a B&B since they seem to the same price as the hotels. Although nothing we have seen is very cheap so we have come to realize we will have to spend some money. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help you can give and I am so looking forward to seeing Boston. (the furthest east I have been is Chicago).

TIA

Anne

Hi Anne!

First off....WAY TO GO!!! Running the Marathon is quite an accomplishment!

Secondly -- about places to stay... the following are hotels that are all within a few blocks of the finish line:

Sheraton Boston Hotel - 39 Dalton Street

The Westin Copley Place - Ten Huntington Ave

The Fairmont Copley Plaza - 138 St James Ave

Boston Marriott Copley Plaza - 110 Huntington Ave

Newbury Guest House - 261 Newbury St

I would also suggest checking out this website: http://www.boston.citysearch.com/section/hotels_visitors/

Within the Hotel section, run a search by Neighborhood -- the neighborhood you want is "Back Bay"

The race ends on Boylston Street, directly in front of The Prudential Center. Most hotels listed on that website let you link to a map, so you can get a better idea of where it is in the city.

Feel free to private message me, or just post again for any other info you need -- I'll be happy to help!
