I've got a new iBook Mac laptop and want to get the MasterCook software. Has anyone used this software on a Mac? All the info I've found is for PC's. I read someone's post a few weeks ago that had old software on her Mac, but does anyone know about what could be used now? I've got a PC, but it's set up in my 9 year olds bedroom and rarely used (by me) since he took command of it....you know how that goes! I've moved my "office" into the kitchen, so to speak!

Hi Heidi!
I have Mastercook on my G4... they quit making it for Mac some time ago, so look for "MasterCook Deluxe, version 4.0.6". I think that's the last version. Someone's usually selling it on Ebay.
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the newer PC version has, but I find that it suits me just fine. It's better than the unorganized mess I had before!
Good luck!

You can also get the CookWare software from www.cookn.com. It is mac compatible. It isn't nearly as fancy as MasterCook, but I have had it for 7 years and it serves my purposes beautifully. Just an idea.

Thank you Heidi H!:) Did you read my mind?? I was getting around to wondering the same thing. I've got a new iBook too. Love it!
I remember MasterCook on Macs years ago but.....
I think I'll check out the CookWare software that Grace mentioned.

Can't get CookWare to work1
I did get the Cookware software, but have not been able to get it to work! It won't copy and paste recipes. It will let me add in any recipes I want to fill in myself, but that's it. I fooled around with it for hours and never figured it out...if anyone has any tips, let me know!
Thanks,
Heidi

Heidi, you can only copy/paste the instructions part of the recipe. For the ingredients, you have to manually type all those things in (bummer, I know). Although when you buy the cookpacs, everything loads automatically and there is no typing at all. I don't type too many recipes in. I cook probably 90% from CL recipes, and I buy the cookpacs every single month (since 1995), so I haven't really had to do much typing. Just the occasional recipe from this BB, and a few old family recipes. Hope you find that it fits your needs like I do. Otherwise, maybe you'll have luck finding the older version of MasterCook on ebay.

Grace,
I've tried to just copy and paste instructions only, specifically a recipe off the BB, and it still didn't work. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. I even printed out the instructions and tried to do it step by step, still no luck. I'll keep trying though. Thanks for the heads up!
