For some odd reason I got the most recent issue in the mail. I have no idea why, I didn't even know the magazine existed, much less subscribe to it.

Does anyone else subscribe? Looks kind of cool and I might subscribe to it but I'd hate to do that and then have it be a "one issue wonder".

There was a recent thread about cooking magazines, and I think it was Grace who recommended Cuisine at Home. I went to their website and signed up to get a free copy. I just received it in the mail a few days ago and it does look like a really good magazine.

It is a bit too expensive for me, at this point, so I am not going to subscribe. But, as Grace always says, if cooking is your hobby then it is okay to put money into your hobby. And as far as hobby expenses goes, it really isn't all that much money when you think about it. (same goes for buying the cookpacs!)

:o :p :D  Boy, I MUST be in sales.....I really sold dear Val on my "hobby" theory!!!

Yes, it's me that gets this magazine. I really like it. I like it so well, I bought all the back issues so that I have a complete set (don't forget, it's a cheap hobby!! :D  ).

I don't always cook a lot from it (but sometimes I do), but I like the photos, and step by step CLEAR directions, and the recipes are always a lot different from CL recipes. I would cook from it even more if the recipes were lighter, for sure. I really like having this magazine as a "reference" magazine. I get lots of ideas and learn a lot from it. And I do search through them every now and again, I think even moreso than I do my Cook's Illustrated mags (no pictures in those! )

I love this magazine! It used to be called just Cuisine. They changed their name at the beginning of the year. It doesn't have as many recipes as Cooking Light - but the instructions are detailed and explained well. Usually there are several things that I want to make from it. The reader's tips are always good, too. But then...I'm addicted to cooking magazines. :)

OK. So I go to the web site & plug in the info to get a free preview issue...& you have to check the box that says to "bill me later" in order to get the free one. What's the deal here? I really don't want to get this one free issue & then also start getting the regular issues along w/ invoices to pay up. I understand it is a ploy to get you subscribe, but it sure looks like it could back fire. (Shades of "Oxmore House" here!) Has anyone just gotten the ONE issue & not been bothered w/ other issues or invoices??

Just write "cancel" on the invoice and you shouldn't get any more issues. If you do, just call them and tell them to cancel. I haven't done it with this magazine, but I have for others.
