View Full Version : Sunsweet Lighter Bake substitute?

There were two recipes in the October 2000 issue that called for Sunsweet Lighter Bake Fruit Puree as an ingredient (I don't recall the exact names of the recipes, but I think they were sweet breads in the Reader's Recipes section). I haven't been able to find such a product in my neck of the woods. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might use instead? I know people often use apple sauce, canned peaches, and even prune baby food as substitutes for oil, but I'm wondering what consistency to aim for....

Please look at fat free fruit puree post above. I posted 2 recipes for prune butter (which is basically what sunsweet is). You can try finding Lekvar prune butter too. Making your own is very simple...enjoy!
