My husband recently purchased a couple of "Pure Protien" bars and on the ingredient list there was something called "Fractionated Oils (Palm and Soybean). Is this the same thing as hydrogenated oils? We have been making a big effort lately to stay away from hydrogenated oils and I'm wondering if this is just another way of listing them. (I'm thinking so that they can slip it by!) Just curious if any of you know!

Kim,
They just had an article in my paper that mentioned this kind of oil. This is what they said:
"This type of oil is created by a manufacturing process that uses high temperatures or solvents to separate hydrogenated oil into liquid and solid parts. When listed on food labels, it indicates the presence of trans fat."
Hope that helps a bit.
