I'm looking to buy double wall ovens. Right now, I have a microwave on top and oven on bottom. I think I want to get convection b/c it is the newest thing and many people love it. I would like to know if anyone loves their ovens? I have GE right now and like it, so I might stick with that. Is it worth paying more to get Dacor or Thermador? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I have Jenn-Air double ovens and I love them. Since we move often, I did not want to spend the money on Dacor or other high end ovens (although these were still not cheap). I didn't get the convection because it was a lot more money and I had never used them before, but I think I would next time only to see what the difference really is.

Oh, one thing I made sure of was that I got the 30" ovens. We built this house so I had an option, but our last house had was already built when we bought it and had 27" GE ovens. I found them too small for larger pans, etc.

Another thing, make sure you get BOTH ovens self cleaning. The GE we had only had top self-cleaning (which was stupid) and the bottom was not. It was a new oven when we bought the house in 1997, so it wasn't like it was old. As a result, I never made messy foods in the bottom oven.

Do your homework, all the manufactures have websites and will send info out. Take advantage of those brochures because although some ovens are the same size outside, the interior, where it matters most, may be smaller. I think that was why I went with Jenn-air over some of the others - the interior was larger.

I got the Dacor installed just before Christmas two years ago. The original GE two ovens died the week before a big family gathering.. so I had to choose real fast. I am still getting used to the adjustments of using a convection oven, but overall, I love this one.

Major cooking depends on whether the whole family visits at one time and am I glad for the two ovens. I really couldn't manage without them and after several brands, the Dacor hasn't let me down yet.
