Hi,
There is a similar thread that was started on the 7/4/2000 but since there is a lot a new members I would like to ask this question:
What are your favorites Cooking Websites?, besides Cooking Light?
Mine is: www.allrecipes.com (http://www.allrecipes.com)
Thanks,
Hélène

I second the vote for www.epicurious.com (http://www.epicurious.com)
My favorite would have to "foodtv". I love to see what Emeril is cooking!!
How can you do this to me now? I've been collecting pecan recipes to try to promote sales of pecans in our fundraiser. I can't seem to stop and get printing!!!! But keep them coming!
My favorites have been CL, epicurious, food TV and caprial.

Like everyone else, I give my strongest votes (after CL, of course, ahem ahem) to Epicurious and allrecipes.com, and for vegetarian recipes, I think Veggies Unite! has a terrific variety. I also recommend the Tavolo site, with the added benefit that after you've found the recipes, you can stay and order the food, dishes, and pots.
Veggies Unite! www.vegweb.com (http://www.vegweb.com)
Tavolo www.tavolo.com (http://www.tavolo.com)
Wow, I can hardly wait to see what new ones come up that I don't know about yet!

After going to the CL site first, I them check out the Food TV website. Allrecipes is another favorite. A couple of other fun ones are www.topsecretrecipes.com (http://www.topsecretrecipes.com) and www.copykats.com (http://www.copykats.com.)
Phoebe, thanks for the Veggies Unite site. I think that is where I will be going to next!

I'll second (or third or fourth) the motions for foodtv.com & epicurious.
May I also suggest www.kitchenlink.com (http://www.kitchenlink.com) and www.globalgourmet.com? (http://www.globalgourmet.com?)

Is anyone else disappointed in how Epicurious is now posting new recipes--via a newsletter instead of posting all of them on the 15th of each month? Or am I missing something and there is a new way to access them other than through their search feature? I realize this is not the proper forum to be discussing this. I have indicated my disappointment by replying to their e-mail address, but have heard nothing back. I thought maybe some of you might know their reason for the change.

Ralph, thanks for reminding me about kitchenlink.com. I'd forgotten all about it.
And to everyone: There are also some good recipes and links on the various about.com food pages. Try these for starters, and then you can go back to the central Food & Drink page and find others: http://chinesefood.about.com http://vegetarian.about.com

I agree, Epicurious has changed. I tried a recipe off the website a few months ago. It was really good and I couldn't locate my printed copy. I went back to find it again, and it wasn't there! And believe me, I searched for it several different ways. It's just gone. I get the newsletter, but it's not the same.

Wow! So many things to try. I also have to say that CL definitely comes first. I can't wait to look at these other ones.
I didn't know about the recipe newsletter with epicurious. I thought they were still posting the recipes on the web but you could also receive them as a newsletter. Has this changed? I hope not. My favorite part of epicurious was reading the reader comments on recipes.

Oh my, I was having enough trouble keeping my mind on work with just CL to "cruise". Now I have to check out all these other sites too!! Do you think my boss will understand when I tell him that I just can't help myself, it's an addiction? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

They still have all their recipes with reader reviews that can be accessed by their search function, along with the "most commented upon in the last 30 days" section, but they have quit posting the 100 or so new recipes in one batch on the 15th of each month in favor of a newsletter which is just an e-mail that has links to a half dozen or so recipes in one "theme." Whew, that was a long sentence. Sorry.

Aside from this site, of course... I would have to say http://www.allrecipes.com for general recipes in ANY category. Another favorite of mine is http://www.eatethnic.com/EatEthnicHome.htm Not only recipes but info on ingredients, customs, etc. Finally, since my husband & I like to stay at Bed & Breakfast Inns when we travel (and hope to run one some day), I really enjoy http://www.bbsonline.com There are recipes posted by various inn owners- delicious! Great thread, now I can try some fresh new sites.

What an awesome topic!! As if I need more sites to visit http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I love learning more about what to check out. My favorites also include the usuals: epicurious, kichen link, allrecipes.com & some veggies ones. I thought I'd share these two b/c I didn't see anyone else list them:
First, Australian's Dairy Site: http://www.dairycorp.com.au/recipes/index.htm
Second, a good greek site: www.soulis.com/recipes/greek1.html (http://www.soulis.com/recipes/greek1.html)

Hi Jeanne,
I tried the Greek links that you gave us:
www.soulis.com/recipes/greek1.html (http://www.soulis.com/recipes/greek1.html)
when I tried to get it in it says:
Error 404 not found.
Do you know if this site is still online?
Thanks,
Hélène
