I have been walking at a good clip with my friend for some time now. We recently starting walking consistently with a third friend who is really pacing us fast!

don't get me wrong, we love it and I can definitely feel my muscles being used even more. But now that she's walked (run??? :D ) with us for 4 straight days, I have an awful blister on my toe - such that I'm limping in the office.

I've always been prone to blisters - 9 days at DisneyWorld almost made my toes need medical attention a few years ago so it's not just the fast walking - and it occurred to me that there's so much expertise out there on this BB I was wondering if someone had an idea to help.

Should I change shoes every day? I have 4 pairs of running shoes but I always wear the Asics since they're my favorite. I wear regular white athletic socks (Champion and others).

Any ideas would be welcome! I don't want to have to sit out a walking session!

Thanks,

Loren

What has worked for me (in training for the breast cancer three-day walk this summer) was to get OUT of cotton socks and in to something with moisture-wicking capabilities (like cool-max). I really had to swallow hard at the price difference (I'm used to paying $10 for ten pairs of socks... not ONE!) but they really have made all the difference -- and walking 10-15 miles (so far) blister-free is worth the extra $$ to me. :)
