On the thread that Valchemist started with the picture of her bun, BlueMoose commented on what a cutie pie she is. (and is she ever!) It reminded me that DH='s one grandmother used to call him her little peach pit or her little onion seed! Aren't those hysterical! Makes you wonder what he looked like as a child! Anyways do any of you use food related nic names for your kids or were you called by any?

My dad used to call me (and sometimes still does) meatball! I went through a chubby stage from ages 9-11 and I guess it started then. Though I'm not cubby anymore Dad can still get away with calling me meatball. :)

My mom was called Peachy growing up. I think she really liked peaches and that's where it came from. In fact people that knew her when she was little still call her Peachy.

This should be an interesting thread! I'm anxious to read other's names.

Mom went by Ginger, her given name was Virginia, but there was one person who called her "Spicy" and she liked that!

Don't use food names for my kids, except to call Mariel a Piggy or a Human Vacuum!!!! Boy can she eat!

I was always Daddy's little "pumpkin"... which was probably prophetic in determining my round orange physique :)

My uncle always called me 'sack of potatos' as in "I could throw you over my shoulder like a sack of potatos." Glad that name was only around when I was little:D

"Tater" Also "rotten tater" or "sweet tater" depending on my mood. I ate a lot of potatoes when I was younger...

I don't really have a nickname, but my SIL/BIL call my niece "Peanut".

I guess my mom does call me "honey" but she calls everybody that, so it isn't really my nickname.

My mom always called me "Lolli" - short for "Lollipop". (Actually, she still calls me Lolli.) I'm not certain if she calls me that because I'm sweet, or if she thinks I'm a sucker :D

Mine was "muffin." My dad called me that when I was little. In fact, that was my code word if someone I didn't know had to pick me up from school. I would have to aske them the secret word, and if they said "muffin", then they were cool. Fortunately, that never came up.

As far as kids go, when I was pregnant with my son Liam, he always used to hang out, curled up on my right side. I used to call him a Lima Bean before he was born, which I anagramed and now call him Liam Bean.

And then of course, there is "Auntie Bean" which is one of my close friends. Her name is Salina, and in high school we called her Salina-Beana, which then got changed to Beana-Weana, then got shortened to Beana, and now I just call her Bean!

I don't think I had a food nickname.

My friend Ginger often got called "Spice" though, and when our guy friends wanted to make her mad they called her "Garlic". They still do! :p

My Dad called - and still calls - me Buns. I guess when I was very young I would take off my pants and diaper/underwear and just run around with my "buns" on display. Cute then, embarrassing now. :)

Grandpa called me Peanut, Jelly Bean and French Fry. And Joe, not sure where that came from.

Mom calls me Turkey and Angel Face, which somehow turns into Angel Food Cake on occasion.

As dd Angela already said I was Peachy when I was little. I ate alot of peaches. No one calls me that now except people that knew me before I was 9 years old. That was when we moved and I did not tell anyone my nickname.

Now that my grandpa is in his 80s, he refuses to learn the names of new people he meets, especially the men. He calls EVERYBODY Joe! He's not senile or anything, just stubborn and lazy :D

Mom called my sister her "little bag of sugar" because she weighed exactly 5 pounds when she was born.

In the French language they have a term of endearment (?) "mon petit choux," which translates to "my little cabbage."

My sister calls me (Jennifer) Jelly, and my husband (Jamie) Jam. My name originated from a Garbage Pails Kid called Jenny Jelly. Then she just thought that Jam would work as well and be cute. I initially hated it, but I have gotten used to it. It's funny because when we're out shopping, and in different areas, she'll start saying "JELLY" farily loudly. And then I answer! People always look to see who has that name. :)

I didn't have a food nickname, but we call DD "Peanut". She was so little to us when she was born (not to others though) so we called her our little peanut.

It wasen't until about the third post that I remember my great aunt use it call me "little piece of cheese" Can't really remember why or how that started.

DH calls me buns, but I really don't think that it's food related :o
When DD was younger we often referred to her as leeza pizza, both DS had non food related nic names, but thats another story :p

Mine's sort of food related...my Dad used to call me Pruneroo. (Three syllables...Prune-a-roo). It didn't really have to do with prunes though (no GI problems! :o ), it was because I used to love to be in the bath or the swimming pool and I would stay in until I got wrinkled as a prune. I can't remember the last time he called me that, but I think it's cute. He also used to call me "Jenny-babe", and I DO remember the last time he called me that - a few days before I got married. He's not necessarily the most demonstrative guy, like most dads, but he said something like "we're sure going to miss you around here Jenny-babe" and I had to get up and leave to avoid crying! (Now I wish I had cried and said something sweet back...he probably thought I was trying to avoid him!!). Boy, the nostalgia...how can you tell I really love my Dad?? :)

Not that I want to be old, I just think it's kind of funny!

emmy love reminded me that we used to call my sister leenie beanie, her name is eileen, that eventually evolved into just beanie and sometimes weanie beanie....

I'm surprised DH='s grandmother didn't call him her little cabbage as someone else said was a popular name...that seems to fit him...

I like the little bag of sugar...that's cute!
