HELP! Mystery Ingredient...

I hope this posts -- I tried posting something for the first time last night and it's still not appearing! Here is my question...

In the current issue of CL, there is a recipe called "2 Minute 24 Hour Casserole." It calls for "fat free Italian herb pasta sauce." I can't find any such thing in my grocery store. Everything is either red sauce or cheese sauce. Can anyone recommend a brand name of something that works in it's place? I really want to make this dish!!

Fat free italian herb sauce would be a red sauce. Italian herb just refers to the flavoring such as roasted red pepper, garlic& onion, etc. I would think grocery stores would have this but I know that health food stores do. Hope this helped

Most canned red sauces, such as Hunts, Contadina, etc are fat free. They aren't usually very flavorful but can be easily spiced up http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Cshell-I am not positive, but I think you are basically looking for any red sauce. Maybe you can just add some Italian seasonings to make it more Italian herb-like. I hope this helps. Enjoy the new issue for those of us who haven't received it yet!
