Got home late last night & was flipping through the Spring Penzey catalog (that had just arrived) while wondering what to do w/ the 2 pork chops in the fridge that needed to be used....& there was a recipe for pork chops w/ potatoes. DH offered to give it a try & so I sat back w/ the paper while he made dinner. It was so home-y & good. He is beginning to build a library of recipes that he can cook & this fit the bill very well. Simple ingredients & cooking method. He was most surprised & very pleased w/ the results. We will be making this again!

I just looked at that recipe on the web site and it looks wonderful. Did you use the garlic granules or substitute garlic powder? TIA

DH must have used the garlic powder since that is all we have. The meat was so tender w/ an ever so slight smokey taste. He did say he used about 1/4 more water 'cause when he added the original amount it totaly dissapeared. Lots of great browned bits to scrape off the bottom of the pan. I just loved all the flavors together.

I just got my catalog a couple days ago and paused at this recipe too! I earmarked the page to add to my forever-increasing file of recipes to try. I love pork chops and just made the CL Complete ckbk.'s recipe for chops with country gravy two nights ago-my fav! :D Thanks for your review, rosen! :D
