Just wondering if anyone ever made these and could give me a review - they are from a year or year and a half ago in CL, in the same article with the Butterfinger Ice Cream Pie recipe... I'd love some reactions if there were any takers on the brownies.

Anna-these brownies are really good. I subsitute the junior mints with 2 peppermint patties and it works really well. Of course, I tend to cheat a little and throw in a few chocolate chips!

I tried these a while ago. I also thought they were a little dry (could've been my fault) but also just a bit lacking of something. Several CL brownie recipes that I liked better were the Turtle Brownies (June 00, I think), the Kahlua-Cinnamon Brownies (Complete CL cookbook) and the Black Forest Brownies (summer? 00). None of these involve mint, though, if that's what you're craving!

I made these several times and I really enjoyed them. Perhaps I liked them more than several of the others that responded because I tend not to like rich desserts/sweets/bakery. I don't have a huge sweet tooth. They were simple but tasty.

I made these and I thought they were lacking something so I made a little mint frosting to put on top. They just seemed a little plain to me.

I liked these brownies, too. They tended to be a bit dry on the outer edge (I may have cooked them a bit long) but they were tasty.
