I love the 'happy threads' that people come up with, and I thought, it being a gray, overcast day that was supposed to be a pain in the neck but turned out otherwise, I'd start one today.

My day:
I overslept (not a bad thing) went and had my morning cup of tea anyhow, got engrossed in a rather funny book Diary of a Mad Bride http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385335830/qid%3D1017150614/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F0%5F1/102-2498846-4415340 . I got so engrossed in it, I didn't realize that I still had to shower and do my hair until 7:15  (hint: I usually leave the house at that time).

I lingered in the shower (felt wonderful, and I used some lovely rose soap that I have to get more of), got out the door around the time I'm usually supposed to be hitting my office.

Of course, the parking lot was full (It fills up by 7:45, so no surprise) but instead of going to the remote lot, I went through one lot and down a side street where - ta DAH!! - I found a parking place.

Headed out of the car, started slogging through the parking lot toward my building (a bit of a hike) when a security van pulled up beside me and the driver asked if I wanted a lift to the 'Tower Building'. The security folks at my company are all delightful, and I really enjoyed talking with this guy (and not having to slog several blocks to the office).

So: I was rushed (my fault) but got in a good cuddle with my cat, Boomer, found a parking place and had a great conversation with a really nice fellow. I wished him a happy Easter and headed into the office.

I think it'll be a good day!

How's yours going?

Diana,

What a great start to your day! Thanks for sharing it with us. I enjoyed reading it, especially as I'm not in the greatest of moods today, which is really quite rare for me!! :) No reason in particular, either, which is good, of course, and my mood does seem to be improving. In a few moments I should be back to my normal, chipper self!

I'm looking forward to a fantastic long weekend and to getting away from it all for a couple of days, and then spending some time with family and close friends. :) And I have a LOT to be grateful for, which I won't even bother to start listing here!

:) :) :)

I am about as happy as I can be right now!!!!! After months of anticipation and weeks of waiting, I finally received the phone call that may potentially completely change my life forever.

A few minutes ago, the background investigator from St. Louis County Police Department called to begin the selection process related to my application for police officer. On Thursday, I do the physical agility test, the written exam, a video interview, get fingerprinted and photographed. The entire process is something like 12 steps, so this is just the beginning, but it is a start.

I was so worried that I would never get past the initial review of my application.... now that I have accomplished that, I really feel I can handle the rest of it. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my excitment! Gina

Way to go, Gina! I know you can do it.

Glad some people are having a Happy Day! My poor DH was up most of the night with a nasty stomach bug. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get it and that it wasn't a result of the SuperFast Salisbury Steaks I made last night!

Yay, Gina! I'll be thinking good thoughts for you on Thursday :). How exciting!

I'm happy for the usual good stuff today - DH, sweet cat, health of loved ones, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary, but then that's something to be thankful for too.

Oh - almost forgot, I'm happy that dinner's already made and ready to go in the oven when I get home tonight :D. New recipe - Cauliflower, Pasta and Cheese Gratin from the Recipe Finder.

hehe:D I could have written that. DH was up with stomach cramps for several hours last night. He said he would've felt better if he's actually thrown up. I hope if he's sick no one else gets it, and that it wasn't the fish I fixed last night!

I'm also happy that my second Penzeys order arrived this morning. Can't wait to try the Fox Point Seasoning on my eggs in the morning, and that pitiful excuse for paprika I got at the grocery store will hit the trash tonight!! Wow, the penzeys stuff smells SOOOO much better.
