Hi Terri,

Call Greek and I'll come running. Sounds like you're searching in the right spot, if you're using the "search" on the upper right corner of the board. Other places to search would be by typing in the name of a month, since Susann does her Country of the Month; favorite appetizers in the popular threads archive; under user name Venus, who has Greek relatives; my name; or by typing in names of dishes or ingredients such as spanakopita, phyllo, feta, kalamata olives, eggplant-- that sort of thing. There are tons of Greek recipes posted-- I posted quite a few myself.

In answer to your other question, no it's not customary for supper clubs to post their recipes (although it HAS happened once or twice.)

One other thing, the search engine can at times be a bit funky-- and there are currently something in the neighborhood of 43 active pages NOT archived. When you run your search, it is checking only those 40-something pages, not the archives. But, if you switch your search from Great Foods to Archives: Popular Threads or Archives: Archives, you'll get a whole other selection of topics.

...by the way, have you checked out CL's Recipe finder, using the same methods. I typed in "Greek" and found all kinds of stuff there as well. Look under: www.cookinglight.com/recipefinder/default.asp (http://www.cookinglight.com/recipefinder/default.asp)

Happy searching!

I posted a thread on Sept. 25th -- asking for Greek Recipes for my CL dinner club. I had a great response. Sorry -- I don't know how to insert the URL, but do follow some of the one's posted -- the recipes are phenomenal.

I made a Sanakopita, Malitzanolsalata (eggplant appetizer that was posted on the web) and my SO made a Greek bread. Follow threads that other people posted and you will be amazed at all the great recipes to chose from. Our group also made the roasted leg of lamb (from Oct 2000 CL) and it was very good.

Hope this helps!

Terri-Lynn As Gail said (typed?), Greece was our country of the month 2 months ago. I will be happy to post any of the following recipes :Greek chicken pitas, gyros, greek salad, spanakopita. Also, try Gail's delicious eggplant puree which is posted on the same country of the month post. If I think of anything else I made, I will let you know. For whatever it is worth, Greece has been our favorite country so far (but then again, tomorrow IS the first...). Enjoy!

Terri-Lynn,

This is in addition to the info you have already rec'd, b/c other's have already shared some good advice for you. This is not a CL site, but it's good for greek recipes. (Although I did find that when I tried to open some of them, they wouldn't open.) However, don't fear, because there are TONS to choose from.

Go to: www.soulis.com/recipes/greek1.html (http://www.soulis.com/recipes/greek1.html)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me, I am looking for some greek recipes to try. I tried going into search but I dont know whether I am looking them up correctly.

Do the supper clubs when they have a theme night post those recipes?? Is there a better way to look up greek food then to type in greek and check out the archives and great food threads.

Thanks a bunch

Terri
