I have a question for you Midwesterns out there who have been to the Wisconsin Dells. I know, that narrows down my audience quite a bit! Anyway, we have heard that the indoor waterparks are alot of fun and are inexpensive during the week this time of year. So, we are going to go sometime this month. I was looking into the parks and there are just so many of them that it is overwhelming trying to decide where to go. Any of you been to any in the Dells? We have three boys, 5, 4, and 2, so I'd like to go to one that small kids would enjoy, but would also have stuff that we could all do together. Anyone been there, done that, with advice? Thanks!

I've only been to the Dells once in my life...(I'm not an outdoorsy nor amusement park person):o ---plus I was in my 20's when I went (i'll be 45 this may).....but if I recall, it is not an indoor park.
It was OK, but I was too gaga eyed with the boyfriend I had at the time to pay attention to any of the stuff around me...sorry..
anyone else?

The Dells has changed tremendously in the last 20 years. We now go every year in the winter to one of those waterparks, and they're AWESOME!!! Our favorite, hands down, is The Wilderness Resort. Second favorite would be The Kalahari. We didn't like the Great Wolf Lodge, it was really geared for little kids in a big way. All the parks have stuff for little kids, but the Great Wolf pretty much had ONLY stuff for little kids.
There are other indoor/outdoor water parks, that I think we are going to try during the summer (like Treasure Island, I think it is, but it's mostly outdoor, with very little indoor, so that's why we never choose it for our winter excursions).
I'd go with the Wilderness Lodge. You won't be disappointed. Have fun!! Those water slides are the BEST (they're completely in the dark!! It's like being on a roller coaster and you don't know what's coming next!! And the water's WARM!! :D :D) I want to go too......

Thanks Grace! I'm looking forward to going. We've narrowed it down to the Wilderness and the Great Wolf Lodge. Actually we have three little boys, 5, 4, and 2, so maybe the Great Wolf Lodge would be better for us. Does the Wilderness have alot for smaller children, too? Do they both have the "lazy river" thing where you can float around on the tubes? I'm pregnant, so I don't think I'll be flying through too many water slides!

JoAnne, the Great Wolf's "Lazy River" is SOOO LAME!!!! It's miniscule. The Wilderness has a MUCH better one, and the Kalahari's is OK too. As I mentioned, all the waterparks have areas for the little kids. The Great Wolf pretty much had ONLY stuff for little kids, and almost nothing for bigger kids. And since you have a bunch of little kids, that might be ok. But you'll be sorely disappointed with what they call their lazy river...
I really think the Wilderness has enough for little kids, BUT, I don't have any kids, so I don't know how good a judge I am of that. I will say, though, that my husband's niece and nephew (now aged 10 and almost 8) both agree that they like the Wilderness the best. But maybe that's because they love the water slides. Your kids may still be too small for the bigger water slides (although they definitely have smaller ones for the really little kids). Hmmm. Tough call on that one. I'll leave it with they both have stuff for little kids, and you'll have fun at either of them! Hope you have a great time!!
