I've decided to ask for a pressure cooker for Christmas. I did a search to see if we discussed brand preferances and came up with just two. Sneezles, I noticed you have Fagor and Skylarc has Faberware and both of you purchased through Chef's Catalog. Does anyone else have a recommendation? I also plan on checking Consumer reports. Thanks

I hope you don't mind me bringing this back up to the top. I really respect all of your opinions and thought I'd give it another shot. Thanks

I don't know where it was that you read I had a Fagor but I have a Faberware 4qt electric and wish I had the new 6qt!

OK, OK, my pressure cooker is the greatest!!! I just didn't want to have to pull it out of the cabinet. I will do so tonight and get back to you. I also have an earthenware bowl with a lid, there is a technical name for it that I don't remember, you use it to cook rice and I have been extremely happy with it http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I will get back to you with the brand name.

I've got a Fagor - I'm not sure how many quarts, but it's the big one. I love it. I use it all the time, especially in the fall and winter. Soups and stews are done in a half hour instead of 2 hours. Mashed potatoes in 10 minutes. 10 minutes!! And I haven't even used it for everything it's capable of doing. I'll have to pull out the book soon and start experimenting some more....

As promised, mine is Aeternum. I don't know the size but I have never had any problems with it and it works wonderfully!

I have a t-fal that has worked efficiently for me for the last 6 years. I recently tried to contact the company via email to find out where I can purchase a rubber seal ring for the lid-something that should be replaced yearly that hasn't been http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif . They contacted me to find out where I live and haven't heard from them since. Because of this, I cannot recommend them.
