last thanksgiving my vegetarian brother made this gravy and it was DELICIOUS!!
thought i'd pass it along...

quick garbanzo gravy

1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 medium sized onion chopped
1 1/4 cup water added in increments
1 15 oz can garbanzo beans undrained
1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
2 tsp soy sauce

in medium sized skillet heat oil. add onion and 1/4 c. water. cook over high heat stirring frequently until all liquid has evaporated. add another 1/4 c. water and continue cooking until totally evaporated and onion slightly browned. add another 1/4 c. water stirring to remove any pieces of onion stuck to pan. transfer onion to blender, add beans w/ liquid, poultry seasoning and 1/2 c. water. blend until completely smooth (add more water for thinner gravy). return blended mixture to skillet. add soy sauce and heat gently, stirring occasionally until hot.

Thanks for the recipe! I'll definitely try this on Thanksgiving...I get icked out using turkey drippings, so this looks really promising.
