Golly, folks, what a disappointment! This casserole was pretty darn--well, awful! Most of the penne had this ghastly wet, pasty look after it soaked up the pasta sauce overnight, but some of it was still chewy. It tasted like raw flour/pasta mostly, and the combo of cream cheese/sour cream/spinach between the pasta layers was pretty yucky as well. There's a reason pasta needs to be boiled, and this recipe proves it! What a sad waste of 2+ jars of pasta sauce, a whole box of pasta, 8 oz. cream cheese, and a handful of turkey sausage I tossed in, then tossed it all into the trash! KUDOS to hubby for valiantly downing most of his serving, however!

Since I believe this was a reader's recipe, now I'm curious if CL actually tests these recipes before printing them!

I would think they have to test them before publishing them, but since you mentioned it, we've noticed that the majority of the duds in CL come from the reader's recipes section!
