Container store has some great bottle but they have corks instead of screw type lids. The cork fits very tight though. Do you think this would work for homemade vanilla or kahula? Does the kahula bottles have to be dark? I am using the recipe from the previous thread and can't wait to see how it turns out.

I would not use corks. I was the one that posted the recipe. When I did the main batch of Kalhua I used one of those jugs of dark green glass then when I distributed the kalhua I tried to use dark bottles with caps but I did use some vodka clear bottles. I still keep kalhua in a shelf (kind of dark)

If you have a WorldMarket CostPlus around they have 2 and 4 oz. bottles with lids that are clamped down. I don't know what the correct term for this type of top - but the top is connected to the bottle with metal wire (but non-bendable) that you can use to clamp the top down or release the top. That's a horrid description but I hope you get the idea. The bottles are clear though.

RunnerKim, those are the bottles I bought for my vanilla. Hope they work okay, being clear and all???
