I was wondering what some of your children say for their grace at meal time. Our children have learned to say grace in chinese, since they are half, but I would like to start teaching them some english ones. We grew up with a very short one:
God is good
God is great
Let us thank him for our food
Amen
Just thought it would be fun to hear some new ones.

Ok, we are rather lax and we've found a church that we have yet to attend.
But, the daycare does a blessing before every meal and we try to remember to do it at home.
Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the food we eat
Thank you for the birds that sing
Thank you God for everything.

Gotta love that search function. :) We talked about this a few months ago. There are a few suggestions here:
Children's Grace Link (http://www.cookinglight.com/vbb/showthread.php?threadid=20893&highlight=prayers)
Have fun! :)

We also used to say the second verse to this:
By His hands
We all are fed.
Give us Lord
Our daily bread.
Amen
We take turns saying grace. Just make one up (although the kids tend to say about the same thing each time). Doing it this way allows us to give thanks for something that happened that day, if we want to.

well, this is not necessarily a children's grace, but the one we have said my whole entire life:
Bless us, O Lord
and these, thy gifts
which we are about to receive
from Thy bounty
through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Does a college kid count as a child? In that case, how about:
Good food,
Good meat,
Good God -
Let's eat! ;)
Kidding aside, my SIL always said:
Be present at our table, Lord.
Be here and everywhere adored.
These morsels bless, and grant that we
May feast in paradise with Thee.
There's the grace I said in Girl Scouts, called 'Johnny Appleseed's grace'
The Lord is good to me,
And so I'll thank the Lord
For giving me
The things I need
The sun and the rain
And the apple seeds...
The Lord is good to me!
(The grace I said growing up - and still say - is a little more on the grownup line.)

We have North Carolina roots so grew up saying the Moravian Blessing from Old Salem:
Come Lord Jesus
Our guest to be
and Bless these gifts
Bestowed by thee.
Now, with a 15 and 13 yr old, we adlib so we try to put a little more thought into it....tho my DS (13) tends to kind of stick to the same theme night after night....

Don't get me started on Girl Scout graces! :)
I definitely remember the Johnny Appleseed grace, but my favorite was one that you sing to "Windy." I can only remember the beginning (start at the verse as it sings "Who's walking down the streets of the city ...")
"Thanks be to God, the Father Almighty ..."
Anyone else used to sing this?

Thank you for the replies, I will be printing them off and sharing them with the boys. They were exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for the link MK Squared, I will bookmark it.
Thank you again everyone

Us too! That's the grace DH's fam says at Christmas (and as the oldest grandchild, he has to say it). Which is funny, 'cause they're not Moravian (Lutheran and UCC). We always said the "God is Great" prayer. We were Baptist (I saw were-I'm Lutheran (ELCA) now, and have no idea what their grace is).
P.S. DH grew up in Walburg and I grew up in Welcome, both about 15 minutes from Old Salem.

Hi JHolcomb....none of us are Moravian either...all Baptist, and we did a lot of God is Great too. My dad's family is from Winston Salem and there are a BUNCH of them...I love the area and especially Old Salem at Christmas time!!
