Question about tomatoes

Actually its 2 questions:
1. How do you store sun dried tomatoes? The dry ones. Which do you prefer the dry ones or the ones in oil? (I ask b/c most recipes i've made call for the dry ones)

2. Where do you find tomato juice? Is V-8 veggie juice an appropriate substitution?

I store sundried tomatoes in the refrigerator. The ones that I buy say on the package to refrigerate.

You can usually find tomato juice in the juice aisle. I have seen it come in a can, like a soda can. Except it has a label like a soup can (Campbells).

I'd think in a pinch I'd probably use V8 juice if that was what I had or all I could find.

Ditto what LaraW said. And I prefer the dried ones to the packed in oil ones. You can soften them up with some boiling water (cover them and let sit for about 5 min.)
