hang in there.....a year from now you'll laugh about this.
I was ready to go in a chastize the principal at our school for making my son so uptight about his first day of TAAS testing. He came home today and said that he either passed it just fine or everything he learned in school had been wrong. :D I think he's going to live. You will too. You know, if you taught first or second grade you'd miss all this fun. ;)
I don't really know what these tests are that you speak of... come teach up here- we don't have them!!! of course you will have to leave all that lovely sunshine behind!!
Thinking of you Kim- don't let your precious health be ruined by these things!!!:(

DD starts her standardized testing tomorrow. She's done it for so many years, it doesn't even faze her anymore. I don't think she is even nervous about it. Not sure which tests you use in Texas, but she will be taking the SAT-9 here in California. I will be giving it to my students next week. Sign.... This too will pass!

I feel your pain! Seriously, I have had kids melt down during those types of tests, it breaks my heart!! My good wishes extend to YOU and your STUDENTS!!

Well, without a key, it looks like I had one definately fail it, and one that was too close to tell. There were 4 others that could have gone either way (ya know, if they chose to bring their brains that day), but I think they all did great!
Peggy, the kids take Stanford inFeb then TAAS in April. They have to pass everything or go to summer school, or not go on.
I am really hoping that after one year of doing this, and SEEING I have the ability to teach what they need, I will feel better next year. Beth, I agree, and altho I think 5th graders are AWESOME, I would probably also love 2nd grade!
