Does anybody know about this guy/book/show? I've seen numerous adds in magazines & newspapers (& of course on Food TV) for it/him and am rather intrigued.
Food TV's web site doesn't say much other than he's unconventional & strips "down recipes to their bare essentials" (hence the name). He's from England & I think I read somewhere that the show has changed the way people in England eat! And, stores there have seen an increase in sales of ingredients he uses!
I think the premiere is Saturday night. Do we have any British members on the BBs? Is it worth taping?

Hi Ralph,
I am curious to hear more about him too, http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif.
Just kiddin'! I have seen the numerous commercials etc., & it sounds like it's worth
taping. I love watching foodtv and have a blank "cooking tape" I add shows onto all the time. I will be taping this one. Take care, http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia

Another curious FoodTV viewer here! The commercial states that Naked Chef is produced by the same producers as Two Fat Ladies. I wish it was scheduled for earlier in the evenings though. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I saw "The Naked Chef" on the Today Show and disappointingly he WAS NOT naked! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif LOL!

Seriously though, I don't remember what the recipes were that he was showing (sorry two little ones here that needed my attention). I hope to see his show on foodtv (hopefully it's on AFTER my kiddos go to sleep so I can actually watch it!).

I'll tell ya, Ralph...you sure know how to get a girl's attention! The combo of a Naked Chef and Two Fat Ladies is just too much for this Stay At Home Mom to pass by!!!I think I will skip the crazy shopping trips to Toys R Us searching for this years version of Tickle Me Elmo and be obsessed with finding this show! Sorry kids!

I actually have a copy of his cookbook. I have to be honest and say that I haven't prepared anything from it yet (CL recipes and the ones from this board keep me way too intrigued to go searching elsewhere, of course http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif ) but it looks really promising. Great ingredients, innovative combinations, and scrumptious looking dishes. I'd check it out in a book store, if I were you

I too have seen him advertised on FoodTV and heard the relation to the Fat Ladies. I'm intereseted in anything fun & different and this seems to be what he's about. English people have a totally different way about so many things (I've got friends in England) so this looks promising - to be entertaining for sure.

And I too, am a bit disappointed that the "naked" refers to his recipes, vs ? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif (And you don't have to be a stay-at-home-mom to appreciate the humor in this one!!)

I have heard of him, but have not seen his show. If he is ever literally naked, I hope that one won't lose their appetite! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif

I saw a sneak preview of the show earlier this week (or maybe last week). He fixed this realy yummy looking pork chop and root vegetables baked dish. The show was really laid back - he was cooking in his apartment for some friends and then they all went to the dog races together. I am not sure that all of the shows will include guests and events like that or if they will mostly be just him cooking. I will definitely watch it again to see if it will be worth watching in the long term!
