I have seen this infomercial a few times and wonder if anyone has tried this and liked it? It is about that time of year and I would like something that works that I can easily do at home instead of going to the salon.

TIA! :D

I bought some at Bed, Bath and Beyond and tried it. Let me start by saying that I don't normally have sensitive skin, nor do I have very heavy body hair. However, when I tried it, following the directions, I ended up with a burn-type rash AND it didn't even remove all of the hair! I'd never had any problems like that with Nair.

This year, I'm going to try some of the home waxing products instead. Otherwise, it's back to the salon.

Bought some on my wedding day, and it was the biggest waste of time. Took forever to spray on the required amount, and then it only did a half-a@@ job. I ended up having to shave anyway...and the hair that it did remove grew back as quickly as the shaved hair. $$ down the drain. Literally!

I also bought some Nads because it looked so great....but you have to start out with very long hair so that it will get a good grip. Who wants to walk around with legs getting fuzzier every day while you wait?

Thanks for the honesty.

I tried Nads but man, it was so hellish and it didn't work that great that it wasn't worth saving the money. I guess it is to the salon I will go.

I stopped shaving my legs altogether a few years ago after I went on a month-long NOLS trip through the Olympic Mountains with no showers, no civilization, certainly no shaving... so all of the hair grew in during that month and I just never bothered it again.

Honestly, it was such a pain to shave, and I HATED the feeling of stubble between my sheets at night and when I wore nice pants or something. And I tried waxing one time, and it was the most painful experience I've ever had! Sometimes I get wierd looks from people when they look at my legs (and you have to look hard, because I'm not particularly hairy), but that's their problem, says me!

So I encourage you ladies to try it...you'll feel much freer once you've eschewed the dictating norms of Cosmo magazine! Besides, if you REALLY think about it, what's so gross about a woman having a little hair on her legs?

One thing, though, that bothers me...I've had people ask me if I don't shower and that's why I don't shave. I'm not quite sure why those two habits would be mutually exclusive, but rest assured, I'm actually a very clean person...

I ordered EpilStop from the infomercial and sent it back the very next day after receiving it. If you read the FINE print at the bottom of the TV screen it says 'time elapsed 7-10 minutes'. It looks like you spray and wipe, but you spray and sit...and stand...and walk...and burn and itch... and then when you finally can't stand it anymore and wipe the stuff off, only half of the hair came with it. It also talks about a 'pleasing fragrance', but unless you're into snorting NAIR for pleasure, this isn't the scent for you. Smells like your basic depilatory and doesn't work near as well.

I bought a Gently Gold Caress epilator the next month and that works wonderfully! Well, after a few glasses of wine! :p

Okay Rebecca - I'm tempted! Here's my thing, I only shave from the knee down - from the knee up it's natural. I've never shaved my thighs, so the hair is barely there and blonde and soft. But the hair below my knees grows in dark and stubbly.

How long would I have to wait for soft, blonde hair to match my upper legs? How did yours grow in?

Debie--

I'm sure it varies with every person, but mine only took a month or so to be soft. I'm a brunette, but the hair from my thighs to mid-shin is very light-colored, so you can barely see it. It does darken a bit toward the ankle, but that doesn't bother me. I suppose you could always bleach it, right?

Anyway, isn't there something about shaving that makes the hair grow in thicker and darker? I seem to recall that when you remove the hair from the root (waxing, etc.), the hair that evenually grows back is finer and not as dark as shaving stubble. So I guess you could try waxing first and then just letting nature take its course...

Of course, there's no scientific method for letting your leg hair grow. For me, it wasn't so much about actively growing the hair, rather it was just about not bothering to shave anymore, know what I mean?

In any case, I'm definitely not a slave to the razor anymore, and I stopped feeling self-conscious about my legs once I realized that it was everyone else's problem, not mine! I actually get a little kick out of the semi-disguised horrified looks people get on their faces..."Oh my GOODNESS, she doesn't SHAVE!" (really, people actually hardly ever notice) I guess it's the little rebel-hippie in me coming out through my follicles...

Anyway, you could always try it for a while and break out the razor again if you just can't stand it. But I bet you won't go back...;)
