I like the tartness of cranberries and now that they
are in season I want to eat and drink them as many way
as possible but the supermarkets only have those
watered down (27% juice!!!???) drinks.
Anybody has any good recipies / ideas to make real cranberry juice
from fresh berries?
Thanks

Ocean Spray makes a juice called "100% Juice" that is cranberry. I actually like the cranberry peach flavor the best... It IS 100% juice and really good. If your grocery doesn't stock it now, I'm sure they would if you ask. One note, though--often it's not on the shelves with the other Ocean Spray juice (e.g. Cranberry cocktail)... it's down the aisle with the REAL juices.
Best of luck!

I think I need to check another supermarket, this one didn't have
any real cranberry juice, I checked.
Thank's for the tip!

Cranberry Juice
Ingredients:
1 lb (1/2 kg) cranberries
5 cups (1 1/4) liters water
salt
2 or 3 orange slices (optional)
1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar
Directions:
Wash the cranberries and put them into a nonreactive saucepan with the water, a pinch of salt and if you wish, the orange slices. Cook over medium heat until all the berries burst -- about 10 minutes.
Pour the fruit and liquid into a cheesecloth-lined sieve. Strain the juice to the saucepan, add the sugar and boil for two or three minutes. Taste and add more sugar if it is needed. Cool and chill the juice before serving
I believe I saw in the health store cranberry extract or something of the sort which I believe one mixes with water. Its @ $8.00

I'm guessing the 100% juice isn't 100% cranberry juice. It's probably other juices like pear or something. I'm sure it's good though.
