I received a Chef'n brand pepper ball (and a salt one as well) this summer as a gift. Wasn't too sure about it at first, but ended up loving it.... It lets you squeeze salt and pepper to any coarseness with one hand while continuing to stir, etc with your other.

But now it's time to refill the pepper ball. I have my peppercorns all ready, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to open the ball to pour them in. The ball came fully loaded, so I've never had to do this before... I'm hoping someone else has one and can help me. I've searched all over the web for directions to no avail...

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

There is a little door on the side that slides open. Hold the pepper ball with the handles facing you, the ball part facing away from you, and the rectangular little door facing up. Place your thumbs on the little rectangular door, and push away from you. The door will slide open. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much, Grace!! I followed your directions, but was still having trouble with the pepper ball... tried it with the salt ball and it worked fine, so i realized I had to get the pepper ball started with a knife tip... Now it's fully loaded and ready to go.

This bulletin board is the greatest source of kitchen info!!

Don't feel bad. We had help the first time. Our very young son knocked over or dropped the ball, popping the door open. Some spilled, but we learned how to fill it.
