Mine is The Firm's Maximum Body Shaping. It's only 45 minutes, a great all around workout (although not as intense as many other Firms) - nice length, as in their other videos there are lots of changes to combat boredom and a good mix of music.

So what is your ONE ultimate video??

I don't know if it is my "ultimate" tape, but the one I use the most is Tae Bo Get Ripped Basic tape. I find that 1/2 hour is enough.

I have The Method "Target Specifics" which is a pilates tape. I love it because I can do all of it, or just a section of it. It uses ballet-like movements which are easy and fun to do, but really leaves me feeling toned and like I had a workout.

I am not into cardio as much so I don't have a video for that. I guess that I would rather get my cardio walking outside or riding my bike.

Do I have to pick just one???? I have so many good ones. But if I really had to pick one video to take on a deserted island (that had video access) it would be Crunch Boot Camp. It packs a lot in just 30 short min.

Firm's Maximum Body Shaping ranks a very close 2nd!

Don't usually use videos, but when I started yoga at home, I got patricia walden's 3 videos and loved them...

Cathe Freidrich's Cross Train Express. It is a DVD series of 6 work-outs which include step, floor aerobics, kickboxing, weightlifting, and abs. The thing that is nice is that you can combine a 35 minute aerobic work-out with a 15 minute weightlifing session that concentrates on one body part, and with warm up/cool down and stretch, be done in an hour.

I have an absurd assortment of Tae-Bo tapes. Love 'em all. The abs & glutes tape is killer.

I'm a Firm girl, through and through. I have most of their tapes (think I'm missing maybe a half dozen) plus the two new Fit Primes, which are *excellent*. My "favorite" switches around a lot, though, depending on my mood, whether I'm working on cardio or strength training, and how much time I have. Maximum Body Shaping is way up there--Tracie Long is one of the better instructors, imo, and it's a concise, effective workout. Still love Volume 1, but am currently very into Super Cardio and Super Sculpting, as well as (as I mentioned) Fit Prime's Weights First and Core First.

I just discovered the Firm a few months ago and really like their workouts, although when I first viewed one of their tapes I thought "what the hell is this???" But after trying the workout I was hooked!

I think with the Firm either you really like them or you really hate them. I've tried introducing a couple of friends to their workouts and they returned the tapes to me without any comment. Needless to say they weren't won over!

Pammy -- Where did you buy your Cross Training DVDs?

I used to work out in the living room where we have a VCR, but our new furniture is too heavy and fragile to move. I'd like to work out in my computer room, which is large and has a DVD player.

TIA,

Amy Beth

Amy Beth,

The website is www.cathe.com. She has a really nice assortment of DVD's. The thing that is really nice about using a DVD is that you can instantly go to the section of a workout that you want to do rather than having to forward through a tape.

Thanks, Pammy. I'm going to check out that site right now. :)

Being somewhat new to exercising on a regular basis, I have found pretty much any tape made by Living Arts is amazing. You can go to www.gaiam.com or www.livingarts.com and check them out. They aren't your high powered exercise video's, however, they have a variety of yoga, balance ball, pilates, and many other tapes or DVD's. I haven't been dissappointed with one of them yet.
