Does anyone else use the Kroger FF Deluxe Milk?
I've used it for a couple of years and think it's wonderful. I never had a problem with regular skim milk but since I've been using this it would be hard for me to go back.
If you haven't tried it I'd encourage you to. They add a thickener and a stabilizer to make it more like 2% milk.

I completely agree...I don't go to Kroger in Atlanta (I opt for Whole Foods, HT, Publix and Harry's instead), but my mom buys it, and I drink it whenever I visit. It's so wonderful! I love skim milk, so drinking the Deluxe is kind of a treat (without any extra calories and fat! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif )
I shop at Kroger here, but haven't tried that since regular skim is fine with me...I can't handle 2%. Have you asked the store about it? When we lived in CA, all skim and lowfat milk had milk solids added to it, apparently to make it thicker and more palettable to those who are used to whole or 2% milk. Is it possible that they've started doing something like that in your area and they no longer need the different brand?

Beth-
I'm not sure about the additives you're talking about. It isn't a new product though, I've been drinking it for 2-3 years. They still carry regular fat free milk (skim) and 1/2%, 1%, 2% and my personal favorite fat free deluxe.
No, it isn't new in CA either...they were adding milk solids when I moved there 10 yrs ago. I reread your note....I thought you were having trouble finding it, but I'm just having trouble reading. Nevermind.

Personally, I really like the ffree deluxe. However, hubby vetoed it and told me it tasted like (and I quote) milk pudding. Now we are 1/2 percent people!
