I know I've seen postings for this store on this bulletin board in the past. We have a new store that just opened up and I'm planning to visit it this weekend. For those who regularly shop there, do you have any suggestions of things to try that I wouldn't normally think of?

Our Wild Oats in Connecticut has a half an aisle of "Bob Red Mill" stuff (grains) and sells by bulk TVP (which I always buy). I also bought the bulk whole wheat alphabet vegetable soup mix - I have not tried this yet but it looked good.

One recently opened here in Cinti. Their sushi is awesome and reasonable. Also I noticed that they sold a number of different type of "turkey metts", ie: basil feta. Very different and somewhat healthy. My overall thought was that mostly everything was very pricey. But well worth it for things you can't get elsewhere. And the sushi price was unbeatable compared to eating in restaurants and the quality was very good!!

I shop at one in Memphis when we are visiting friends and buy grains in bulk. Most of them are much cheaper than the regular groery store and there is much more variety. They sell a little booklet for around $.50 that can really help out with cooking the different grains giving cooking time and water/grain ratio. It also gives you some recipe ideas. The one in Memphis also sells local honey which is very yummy and less expensive than in the grocery stores. I love to shop there and dread when our friend move in December. Oh yeah, I also buy the TVP which my husband the meat lover doesn't mind at all and actually enjoys!

We just moved to Salt Lake from a small town and I'm addicted to Wild Oats. We go there for lunch (wonderful soup & salad bar)all the time.

You should try some of their exotic turkey sausage, deli side dishes, sea salt, specialty sodas, bulk items, pizza... I usually go hog wild! Things are a little pricey, but what a treat! JennyLiz

We have two Wild Oats markets here in Kansas City. I love their hot foods in the deli, especially their roasted free range chickens. The bulk dried fruit selection is very good as well as the granola. But really, I would have to say the deli is the best - but a little expensive!

What I like best about the Wild Oats in Columbus (Ohio) is their imported cheese section. Wonderful stuff! I also love their wide variety of organic greens and other veggies, as well as their peanut grinder so you can make your own fresh peanut butter.

Cheers, Phoebe
