this has been mentioned on the "other stuff" board, but just in case you missed it...

Everyone Check Your Messages!

The pop up notification is not working, so if someone sends you a private message you won't be notified.

This has happened several times to me over the past few weeks (messages I have sent haven't been retrieved; messages sent to me haven't been found until they were days old) so I thought I would let everyone know.

p.s. you can check your messages by clicking on user cp at the top of the screen.

Doesn't the e-mail notification still work? If it weren't for that, I'd NEVER check...

yes, but only if you have that option turned on in your user CP.

but the email address I have in my profile is one which I check infrequently. (I guess that's my problem, then, isn't it?)

but, also, some people don't have their email addresses in their profiles. so then they are never notified.

Frankly the pop-up thingie kind of annoys me, but I can see where it might be important to have in the cases you've both mentioned. But then again, I don't use the PM unless it's my only recourse...

THANK YOU so much! I didn't even know the e-mail notification wasn't working until I saw your post. I went to my PM mailbox and I had a message from poor boisewinesnob - a couple of weeks old!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: Sorry, Suzy!!!

actually, I think the email notification is working (if you have it activated in your user cp). but the pop up box that notifies you that you have a message is not working.

I am really confused now! I checked my CP, and I do have the "e-mail notification" box checked, but I never got e-mail notification of that message.

And what IS the "pop up box"??! I have never seen/used that!!! :confused: :confused: :confused:

the pop up box is just a little dialog box that appears on the screen when you go to the CL BB. As soon as you get to the site, if you have a message, a little box pops up and tells you that you have a message and asks you if you want to open it in a new window.

I am not sure why you never got the email. maybe the note was from when they were messign around with the boards and so the email notification wasn't working then.
