ISO Rev. of Blackberry Jam Cake

My husband hails from eastern Ky. and one of his fondest memories when growing up is the Blackberry Jam Cake that his mother prepared on special occasions. I've never prepared a jam cake and wonder if anyone has a rev. of the blackberry jam cake from the May issue.

by the way, the cake mix doctor book (which is my obsession lately) has a recipe for tennessee jam cake that looks awesome. I think it has a layer of blackberry jam and it is frosted with a caramel icing. not light at all, though.

Valchemist, you are definitely my life line!! I apparaently missed the earlier review of the cake---now I'm undecided as to what I should do. It's been many years since my DH has tasted his mother's jam cake so I think I'll give it a try. You certainly add sunshine to my life with your hints!
