Has anyone else made these?(May 2000) They were good, but I had a question about these. When I tried to make the "knots" I wasn't sure how to do this because the strips were so long. I wasn't sure whether to leave them long and skinny or bunch them up to look better. Any advice from someone who has made these would be very helpful.

I made these a few months ago for our supper club. I just did my best to tie a knot in the middle. By the time they cooked, they looked just fine. And tasted yummy, too.

They freeze great, by the way.

Chive and Garlic Knots

1 1/2 tablespoons butter or stick margarine
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (11-ounce) can refrigerated French bread dough
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic; saute 30 seconds or until lightly browned. Remove from heat; stir in garlic powder.

Unroll the French bread dough onto a lightly floured surface; brush dough with garlic mixture. Sprinkle the dough with chives and cheese. Cut the dough crosswise into 12 strips. Shape each strip into a knot. Place the knots onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm. Yield 12 servings (serving size: 1 roll)

I just wanted to add my praises. These are really good. Of course, I add more garlic!
