Maple sugar

Has anyone ever used maple sugar? I just bought some at our local health food store and I was thinking of substituting it for regular sugar in a butter cake. Does anyone have an opinion? Thanks!

It will probably taste great! Maple sugar is just considered to be a little more natural than cane sugar and can be used just as sugar. It will slightly tint things that would otherwise be white.
