Curious what color lipstick is most popular...
I know we had a lipstick BRAND thread, but not color specifically so curious if you prefer glossy/clear lips, pink/peach/light colored, or darker/red ones....
I'm at a toss up...I can wear red and with my new, reeeally short haircut, it looks great...but I guess I like the softer pink too. I guess I'm one of those gals that doesn't have a trade-mark lipcolor (or perfume :o --yet  )
Soft pinks are the only lipsticks that ever work with my coloring. Right now, my favorite is something from Clinique called "Sweetness." I change shades a lot, but always a soft pink.
(As for perfume, I've been wearing Estee Lauder's "White Linen" since college -- definitely a trademark for me. I've tried other scents from time to time, but always go back to that.)

I use clear gloss and mostly for the SPF factor. On a rare occasion I will wear a red. I couldn't stand the stuff on my lips when I was younger!
As for fragrance, it's Opium and (when I can get to Neiman's I like to buy) DK's Cashmere Mist

I voted "other." Most days I don't wear any make-up and only wear DCT on my lips. If I'm wearing make-up, my lipstick of choice is Ultima II Lipsexxy in Better than Chocolate, which is a rusty brownish shade.

Vincent Longo's Sugar & Spice. Kind of a burgandy, but not a red. Discovered it in a Sephora in Vegas and it is all I use now. Only problem is you can't find it in Fresno and mail order isn't worth it. So I either have my mother pick up a couple from Sephora in SD or if I'm in Veags I'll stop in Sephora and buy two or three.

I voted other, too so I'll explain:
I also rarely wear makeup and don't really like to wear lipstick. I have some in many colors, but when I do wear it, I like a watermelony color or a toasty-brownish color.

OTHER = NONE for me. I wear very little makeup in general- basically mascara for my pale lashes and sometimes a little eyeliner. I never got into lip stick.
For me, it's classic Chap Stick!

I LOVE lipstick! Probably have 200+ tubes! (Really!) I should live long enough to use it all! :)
I love plum/berry shades... and "neutral" type rosey-brownish shades... and raisin-ey-bronze-y shades... and sometimes cranberry-wine-y shades... and even (once in a while with the right outfit) some reds... but never (for me) anything frosty, or pink, or peachy, or whitish  or brown.
I think lipstick is FUN & FUN and one of the goodies of life!!! :)

I've been spending entirely too much time lurking at the beautybuzz forum, and have managed to figure out that PURPLE lipstick works well for me.
Sounds bizarre, but on my lips, the right shade of purple can look wonderfully natural. Guess it works well with my skin tones or something. ;)
(My two favorites at the moment: Max Factor Paparazzi Purple (discontinued) and Vincent Longo's Flower Girl)

I wear Fired Up by Loreal (I think--maybe Revlon). I love the color-a brick red, it looks fantastic on me, the first color I've ever found that does. I hate the way this particular lipstick feels on my lips, but the color rules. As for scent, I'm a Gucci girl--Rush, to be exact.
Now if anyone can help me figure out eyeshadow and eyeliner...

JHolcomb, for eye-liner, I bought black and very dark brown eye-shadow. I get a spongey type applicator and I use the dark shadow for "liner." It looks more brushed/softened and no wavey lines. It stays on longer and looks more natural...mine is aveda, but I used to use revlon. You can wet it to get a darker color, but I skip that part.
As for shadow, I used to wear the coolest taupe from revlon in my youth...
now, at 45, I don't wear as much eye-makeup because I don't want to call attention to WRINKLES!!!!!!!!!!!! though I must say the liquid petal color from Avon looks nice for special occasions :D :p

Ok I wear pink, but I voted other because 'peachy' is just ICKY!
Sorry, but I loathe peach, can't wear it either. I turn peach when I wear peach clothing. Looks really strange.
When I remember to put it on, since my lipstick brush is in my purse and I keep forgetting to take it upstairs....I wear a plum shade which is dark pink.

AndreaU, were we separated at birth?! I have a couple of tubes of lipsticks that I use on occasion but I have a weird quirk...I'll put it on a couple of times a year and by the afternoon of the day I use it, I think I look dorky and wipe it off. Most times I don't even make it until noon. I swear, I'm envious of the women who use lipstick because I find it glamorous but I feel silly wearing it. I feel like I'm playing dress up.
Now check in every pocket of my winter coats and my dopp (sp?) kit and you'll find chapstick. Sometimes I get frisky and purchase the flavored kind. :D My dad uses chapstick as well and usually will hand it over to me without me asking when we are visting.

I voted other as my favorite lipstick shades are in the plum/berry family-with names like Sugar Plum and Naked Grape. I buy them from a local makeup artist who sells private label. I have been going to him for 10 years and my sister has been seeing him for 16.
He gives "updates" to regular customers where he will show you new colors and techniques. I never feel that I am wasting my money on the wrong thing, he works well with women of all ages, he is supporting 5 kids, I support small business whenever possible, and best of all: I don't have to deal with the vultures at the department store-except for fragrance. As far as fragrance is concerned, I primarily wear Calyx and Red. For summer, I like Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea.

It depends. I lean towards darker colours, like plum or cranberry or darker reds. No pinks or bright reds or browns. I wear less lipstick than I used to and am much less fastidious about applying it regularly. Guess I'm getting old? ;) I do like lipstick, though, and normally make it part of my 30-second morning makeup routine. (Seriously, I've got it timed. :p) When my SO sees me putting it on, he usually tells me how I don't need it, etc., etc., but I generally like the way it looks on me.

I chose other...I can't wear pinks, especially peaches or red. My color is loreal "fawn". It's more of a brownish hue. It goes best with my light/reddish coloring.

I'm a makeup junkie... :o For years I wore nothing but Ultima II, primarily their Lipsexxy lipstick in 'Not Too Naked'. The best looking shades for me are the nude/browns with the mauve undertones. Pinks and peaches make me look ill! DH loves one deep red lipstick I wear only when I wear my big-black-dress but I think it makes me look slutty... maybe that's why he likes it!? Anyway, I switched to Lipfinity's 'Sultry' (#185) about a month ago and I love it. Great color on me.
My makeup is Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals powders. I just started using it, and it feels so strange to have no liquid makeup on my face! I haven't had a zit in over a month! :p
As for fragrance, I wore the original Anne Klein fragrance from age 14 to age 38. Two years ago I switched to Obsession since Anne Klein is discontinued. I'm definitely a one-fragrance woman! ;)

I'm also a "no lipstick" person. In fact, I hardly ever wear makeup. On the rare occasion I "do myself up", I usually wear a natural/nude color.

Shoyski- Separated at birth? Perhaps... but do you keep Chap Stick in every purse and/or coat pocket as well as at least one somewhere at home? I always have one on me- even in my life jacket for kayaking! Am I obsessed? Maybe, but I have some pretty darn smooth lips!

I'm a dark red girl, but it has to have a blue base. Raspberry works much better than brick. I've got MAC lipstick and liner for special events/looking professional, and a Body Shop gloss for everyday wear.

Until I was in my early 30s I wore pinks -- bright ones in the 80s and softer ones in the early 90s. Then I went for one shade of MAC: X-Pose. As Lynn B described, it's a rosey-brownish. I am sooooo fair and pale, I should never have been wearing those bright pinks!!
I hardly ever wear lipstick anymore, but because of this thread I pulled out the ol' MAC X-Pose today, and applied it before going down to the Cartier store to pick up DBF's watch. I felt very saucy walking through Union Square with my fancy lipstick on! ;) :p
