About clothing-are we going out for a "fancy" dinner on Saturday as well? I plan to pack lightly(don't want to weigh the float plane down too much!). So is one "nice " outfit enough? Anyone so organized that they have a list they can share? I bet Julie does!;) :p

Maureen,
I am planning to pack lightly as well. I am waiting until Thursday to decide as the weather up there changes quickly and we are in the 80's here. For "dressing up" I was planning on either wearing black pants or "gentrifying" my jeans - which means turtleneck or tee and nice jacket. All of my co-workers tell me that it will be a bit cooler and damper than we are used to.

Maureen,
I am planning on bringing a simple dress (nothing fancy) and a blazer for each evening. We are in the 90's here and it is hard to imagine needing anything too much warmer. (Especially if we are walking to the restaurants.) I'd rather be on the cool side than warm!!

I am a denim girl through and through, and the only thing that makes the denim more fancy is the shirt or shoes worn with it! :D I'm probably going to be in jeans and boots on Friday night and jeans and sneakers on Saturday, especially if we're walking the Public Market and downtown. Comfy shoes are necessary everyone!

I'm glad there will be someone else in jeans. :D

I can't remember the last time I wore a skirt or dress. It's jeans or shorts for me. :D
And anything over 70º constitutes shorts weather for me. Yes, Jewel, I'm bringing a pair of jeans, just in case - - but I'm willing to bet they don't get unpacked!!!

This is ultra-casual Seattle- "dress-up" means you wear socks with those Birkenstocks!! :D
I don't think we're headed to Wild Ginger or the Icon Grill for dinner Saturday night (are we?). Outside of those places, jeans/khakis, blouse, summer dress, nice shorts, are fine for nearly every place else. Just make certain you have a sweater/light jacket AND sunglasses no matter when/where.
LATEST FORECAST shows partly cloudy and 65-70 Friday, Saturday; mostly cloudy, but still nearly 70 on Sunday.
maureen- how did you know I made packing lists :p ??
Thanks everyone-I think I know what to bring-oh should I stick a bathing suit in? Is there a spa etc. at the hotel?
And Julie people who write as well as you do have very organized minds thus my deduction! (Or were you kidding??):o :)

Maureen,
Their website lists an indoor pool and a whirlpool, so I'd say bring it!
Thanks Eva! A whirlpool-ah my aching body can't wait! (I am not much of a swimmer but great at lounging in hot swirling water!:D

Ditto!
If I'm not in jeans then I'm NOT cofortable nor having fun and relaxed! And I want to do all of that. This will be my first weekend away from baby - I need to be relaxed. Susan, I'm glad you'll be comfy too.
Swirling hot water sounds wonderful. I haven't been in one of those in ages!
Peggy and Wendy and others in warm/hot weather (that would be everyone not around here probably!) - I know it must be hard to imagine how the rain is coming down here right now - but believe me! It's COLD and WET today! :( I hope it will at least not rain on us!!! Here's hoping for better!
Katie

How is it in Denver, Em? I forgot I now know someone who lives there! That fire is so scary. I read in the paper last night that a freakin' Forest Ranger set the fire. It's straight out of Farenheit 451. :(

oooh, that's right. I forgot about that. Scary:(
I'm sure it won't be raining here over the weekend. Not with so many out of townies!
As a matter of fact it's clear and sunny now and it's only a couple hours since I posted rain!! See how fast it changes!? Thanks for sharing your sun Maureen! Sent a little down, did ya?

Katie,
Thank you for your concern about us warmer weather folks. Actually, it is cooler in Northern CA so Peggy is probably used to it. We do get our icky days here in SoCal. I am prepared for just about anything and don't mind rain - even though I wish it would be pretty for our weekend. I am bringing a rain poncho and layers just in case.

The latest report I heard this morning was 70's and beautiful today and tomorrow, then on Friday it's sunny with 'increasing clouds', Saturday is 'cloudy with sunbreaks' and then Sunday is 'showers and sunbreaks'.
Be forewarned Ladies...Seattle is the only place I've ever been where you need to use your windshield wipers and your sunglasses at the same time! No matter what the weather report says Bring your shades!

This is SOO TRUE!! I'v heard that we're one of the biggest comsumer of the little things! Something about all the moisture and rain reflecting brighter....?
And comfy/tenny shoes. LOTS of hills in downtown. It's all on a hill actually.

And here's another detail:
Hopefully somebody can bring a digital camera and we can send pics right away to our bb buddies not with us of our adventures. I have a Mac laptop I can bring. Can we hook up to the bb through one of you Seattle users with a local isp phone number?? Or maybe one of you locals has a laptop you're planning on bringing also? Unfortunately I'm not very computer savy, so I might be asking the wrong sorts of questions here.
Following my thoughts here? Anyone?

I'm bringing our digi camera, and I'm a mac gal too.... unfortunately I'm not up on dialing into another ISP. And most hotels ding you hard for local calls. We might have to wait until I get home on Sunday to post said pix.
