Found a great product at the local Ultra in Oakville. It's frozen herbs! I bought some dill - it's frozen into little cubes that equal 1 teaspoon each. It's great for things calling for fresh dill when you don't want to buy a huge amount of the fresh stuff.

Do you remember the brand name or was it a store brand?

I don't know that I've ever seen them in the US, but one of my German friend had some that we sprinkled onto cucumbers and a soft cheese along with a little bit of olive oil and salt. So they weren't even cooked into anything and they were great! I'll definately be on the look out for those here. Oh, and there's weren't in cubes, they sort of shook out of the box.

The product is just called "Chopped Dill Cubes" - no real brand name. It's made in Israel, but prepared for a company called Toppits Foods Ltd. in Woodbridge, Ontario. Here is their web site address: www.toppits.com

I used a couple of the cubes in potatoes and carrots on Sunday and it was great! I melted the cubes with some olive oil and lemon juice and roasted the new potatoes and baby carrots with the mixture. It went really well with roast lamb.

I'll never buy fresh herbs again!

I found similar items in Trader Joes. They had chopped parsley and basil frozen in 1 tsp size cubes. I love them too!

I think it must be the same product, maybe packaged differently for the States.
